COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Track & Field returns to action for its final indoor meet before postseason competition as the Tigers host the Missouri Collegiate Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 16. Mizzou will have 30 student-athletes in action on Saturday at the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse.
Mizzou will also send a distance medley relay team to the Alex Wilson Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame. Running for Mizzou in that meet will be redshirt freshman Jayson Ashford (Fairview, Heights, Ill.), junior Kieran Wood (Cambridge, U.K.), redshirt sophomore Dustan Davidson (St. Louis, Mo.) and freshman Martin Prodanov (Ploidiv, Bulgaria).
Field events will begin the meet at 11:30 a.m. (CT), while track events are slated to begin at 1 p.m. (CT) and will continue with a rolling schedule. Live results will be available through pttiming.com. In total, 14 teams who will be competition on Saturday, as Mizzou will be joined by Baker, Benedictine, Central Methodist, Columbia College, Fontbonne, Lincoln, Lindenwood, Missouri Baptist, Missouri S&T, Saint Louis, Truman State, Webster and William Penn.
In field events, Mizzou will be highlighted by freshman Arianna Fisher (San, Jose, Calif.) in the triple jump and redshirt senior Gabi Jacobs (Bloomington, Ill.) in the shot put. Fisher holds the No. 2 triple jump mark in program history at 12.68m (41-7.25), while Jacobs holds the No. 7 shot put mark at 15.86m (52-0.5). For the men, redshirt senior Will Fife (Jefferson City, Mo.) will be looking to improve his shot put mark, as he currently holds the No. 10 mark in program history at 18.35m (60-2.5).
In track events, senior Maya Cody (St. Louis, Mo.) highlights the field in the 60m dash, as she holds the No. 2 time in program history at 7.36.
