Mizzou women's basketball fell to No. 7 Vanderbilt 99-68 on Thursday afternoon at Memorial Gymnasium.
Junior guard Abbey Schreacke led Mizzou (12-6, 0-3 SEC) in scoring for the first time this season with 19 points to go along with three rebounds, two blocks and a steal.
Schreacke's scoring total marked her career high for an SEC contest.
Junior guard Grace Slaughter contributed a double-double performance of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Junior guard Shannon Dowell returned to action after missing the last four games due to injury and chipped in eight points, two rebounds and a pair of steals.
Sophomore guard Chloe Sotell drained a triple on the Tigers' opening possession to get the offense off to a fast start in the contest.
With Mizzou trailing by four nearing the midpoint of the quarter, redshirt senior guard Jayla Smith stole the Commodores' inbound pass and raced the length of the floor for a layup to close the gap.
Dowell made an early impact as she converted a 3-point play that ignited a 7-0 Mizzou run. Junior guard Lisa Thompson bookended the scoring charge with a midrange jumper that handed the Black and Gold a two-point lead.
Schreacke added a late triple from the left corner, but a push by Vanderbilt saw the hosts lead 27-23 after one.
Schreacke converted again with a triple from the left wing to open the Tigers' second-quarter scoring. Moments later, the junior dropped in a step-back jumper to give Mizzou the lead.
The consecutive buckets were a part of a 9-2 Tigers' run that gave Missouri a three-point advantage at the midway point of the period.
Minutes later, Smith added a 3-pointer that maintained a one-point lead for the Tigers, but it was followed by a run by the Commodores as they took a 48-37 into the half.
Nearly four minutes into the third quarter, Thompson drove the baseline and dished the ball to Schreacke, who continued her hot shooting night with another corner triple.
Smith and Schreacke added additional makes from long range and Sotell converted a tough and-one opportunity down the stretch to bolster Mizzou's offense, but Vanderbilt was able to expand its lead in the frame and led 68-53 after three.
The Tigers continued to battle in the fourth with Shreacke, Sotell and freshman forward Reka Toman knocking down 3-pointers, but the Commodores maintained their advantage and closed the contest.
