
Women's Basketball to Host Alabama Monday in We Back Pat Contest

Mizzou women's basketball will face Alabama on Monday at Mizzou Arena. The contest will be broadcast on SEC Network and the Tiger Radio Network.
After receiving votes in last week's poll, Alabama is poised to be ranked in this week's rankings, set to be released on Monday. If so, Mizzou (12-6, 0-3 SEC) will face four-straight teams ranked inside the top 25 in the AP poll and become the only team in the country to play four consecutive top 25 opponents this season.
The Tigers are coming off a loss at No. 7 Vanderbilt on Thursday.
Junior guard Abbey Schreacke led Mizzou for the first time this season with 19 points against the Commodores. For Schreacke, it marked the most points in an SEC contest in her career.
Junior guard Grace Slaughter contributed 12 points on Thursday and has scored in double figures in 18 consecutive games. The junior is 15th in the country and sixth in the SEC with 330 points this season.
Junior guard Shannon Dowell returned from a four-game injury absence and totaled eight points, two rebounds and a pair of steals.
Mizzou has been highly efficient from beyond the arc this season and is ranked 15th in the country and third in the SEC in 3-point percentage at 37.5 percent.
Individually, sophomore guard Chloe Sotell (42.3%) and Schreacke (38.8%) are fourth and fifth, respectively, in the conference in 3-point percentage.
The Tigers are 28th nationally and fourth in the SEC with 8.8 makes from beyond the arc per game.
Additionally the Tigers rank fifth in the country and first in the SEC in free-throw percentage at 81.2 percent.
Mizzou has been battling injuries this season and has been without redshirt-junior guard Averi Kroenke and junior forward Hannah Linthacum who have combined to start 32 league games during their collegiate careers.
Alabama enters Monday at 16-1, including a 2-1 mark in SEC play, following a victory over No. 6 Kentucky on Thursday.
Last season, the Crimson Tide advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where they fell to Maryland.
Head coach Kristy Curry is in her 13th season on the sidelines in Tuscaloosa with a 237-163 record. In her 27-year collegiate career, Curry is 546-312 all-time.
Alabama's roster is headlined by redshirt senior guard Jessica Timmons, who averages 15.4 points per game.
The contest will serve as the Tigers' We Back Pat game. Mizzou head coach Kellie Harper played under the legendary Pat Summitt from 1995-99 while at Tennessee.
