Welch started 19 games and made 28 appearances last season. She recorded a season high of 19 points with nine rebounds at No. 21 Texas Tech.

As a true freshman, Welch played in all 33 games, averaging 13 minutes. She scored in double-figures on four different occasions.
An Indianapolis, Ind. native, Welch was a 2022 Miss Indiana Basketball Candidate and was named to the All-State First Team out of North Central High School.
Totaling over 1,000 points, she averaged 17.3 points per game while shooting 46% from the field and 36% from beyond the arc in her prep career.
