- The No. 20 Mizzou gymnastics teams returns to action on Friday, Jan. 22 when the team hosts No. 12 Kentucky at 6 p.m. CT at the Hearnes Center. The meet will be televised live on SEC Network with John Roethlisberger and Alicia Sacramone Quinn on the call.
- Mizzou is ranked 20th in the latest national rankings after coming in at 16th in the WCGA preseason poll.

- Missouri sat ranked No. 14 nationally in March 2020 when the season was abruptly cut short prior to the final regular season meet. The Tigers also ended the 2020 season ranked 10th nationally on vault (49.225), 14th on beam (49.200), 18th on floor (49.290) and 24th on bars (49.110).
- Mizzou will have 63 percent of routines from a year ago available for the 2021 season.
- Overall, Mizzou returns 68 percent of its floor lineup, 65 percent of its vault and beam lineup and 55 percent of its bars lineup.
- Head Coach Shannon Welker is in his eighth season at the helm of the Tigers. Last season, Mizzou defeated No. 11 Minnesota and No. 19 Nebraska and twice posted team scores among the top 10 in program history.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Mizzou gymnastics team fell by the closest of margins on Jan. 15, suffering a 195.775-195.750 loss to No. 4 Alabama at the Hearnes Center. The Tigers improved a full 1.5 points from their season-opening score but it was not enough to take down the Crimson Tide.
- Alabama led throughout most of the meet but Mizzou pulled within striking distance in the final rotation. Ultimately the Tigers went 49.075 on floor to close the night, which was 0.25 short of the Crimson Tide.
- Junior Hannah McCrary won the floor title with a career-high-tying 9.925 in Mizzou's final routine of the night.
- The Tigers got the night started with a 48.925 on vault in the opening rotation. Freshman Jena Swanson nearly stuck her Yurchenko 1.5 for a career-best 9.875 to lead the squad, while freshman Amaya Marshall also went for a personal-high with a 9.825. Senior Gabrielle Gottula went 9.775 and McCrary and sophomore Sienna Schreiber each added 9.725s.
- Three Tigers reached the 9.8 mark in the second rotation as Mizzou totaled a 48.925 on the apparatus. Schreiber and junior Alisa Sheremeta both had team-best 9.825s, while Marshall went 9.8 for the second meet in a row. Senior Chelsey Christensen posted a 9.750 and sophomore Adalayna Hufendiek went 9.725.
- Schreiber and Sheremeta each tallied 9.85s on beam, which tied a career-high for Sheremeta, to lead the way on beam. Freshman Sydney Schaffer added a 9.775 and Marshall went 9.7. Overall, the squad went 48.825 on the event.
- Mizzou had four Tigers go at least 9.8 on floor to give the Tigers a 49.075 on the event to tighten the team race, but the team fell just shy of earning the win. McCrary's career-high-tying 9.925 anchored the lineup for her fourth career event title. Marshall and Swanson also impressed with career-best scores of 9.875 and 9.85, respectively. Sheremeta closed her strong night with a 9.8.

- The Tigers travel to Gainesville, Fla., to face No. 1 Florida on Friday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. CT. The meet will be televised live on SEC Network.
MISSOURI RANKED 20TH IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
- Mizzou clocks in at 20th in this week's national rankings, with an average score of 195.000.
- The Tigers also rank 17th nationally on bars, 19th on floor, 23rd on beam and 30th on vault.
- Missouri was selected 16th in the preseason poll.
MCCRARY CLAIMS FLOOR TITLE IN MEET VS. ALABAMA
- Junior Hannah McCrary anchored Mizzou's floor lineup with a 9.925 against Alabama on Jan. 15 to take the floor crown.
- The 9.925 tied her career-high, which she set at the Crimson Tide in 2020.
- It was the fourth event title of her career, and second on floor, as she also won the event in Mizzou's squad meet against Minnesota, Ohio State and Lindenwood a year ago.
- She currently ranks tied for 20th nationally on the event with an average score of 9.888.
TIGERS SHOW IMPROVEMENT FROM FIRST MEET
- With a 195.750 against Alabama on Jan. 15, Mizzou improved its week one score by a full 1.5 points.
- The Tigers went 194.250 in the season opener on Jan. 8.
- The squad also improved event scores on three events against the Crimson Tide, going from 48.300 to 48.925 on vault, 48.100 to 48.825 on beam and 48.825 to 49.075 on floor.
- Mizzou's score was right on pace from week one, as the Tigers went 49.025 against Georgia and 48.925 against Alabama.
NEWCOMERS MAKE IMPACT IN SEASON OPENER
- A total of five Tigers made their collegiate debuts in Mizzou's meet at Georgia on Jan. 8.
- Overall, 10 of Mizzou's 22 routines against the GymDogs came from first-time gymnasts.
- Sophomores Adalayna Hufendiek and Macy Orosco and freshmen Amaya Marshall, Sydney Schaffer and Jena Swanson all saw their first action in a Tiger leo during the meet.
- Hufendiek did not compete as a freshman in 2020 after recovering from an injury suffered prior to her arrival in Columbia, and Orosco did not see any action during her freshman season at Alabama in 2020.
- Marshall (vault, bars, floor) and Swanson (vault, bars, floor) both competed three events in the opener, while Hufendiek (vault, bars) did two and Orsoco (bars) and Schaffer (beam) each made one lineup.
SCHREIBER WINS BEAM TITLE AT GEORGIA
- Sophomore Sienna Schreiber anchored Mizzou's beam lineup with a career-high 9.9 on the apparatus in the season opener at Georgia on Jan. 8.
- The score was good enough to claim Schreiber's third career event title, but first on beam.
- As a freshman in 2020, Schreiber also won the all-around title against Florida and the bars title at the Mardi Gras Invite.
- The 9.9 bested Schreiber's previous high on the event of 9.85, which she scored twice last season.
