
Horton Set to Compete for Bars National Title at NCAA Championship

Mizzou has had at least one individual compete for a national title at every NCAA Championship held since 2019.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou gymnastics junior Hannah Horton (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) will compete on uneven bars as an individual at the NCAA Championship Semifinal on Thursday at 8 p.m. at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
Horton is slated to compete following Arkansas' bars lineup in the third rotation of the evening session, which will be broadcast on ESPN2.
THE ROAD TO NATIONALS
Horton qualified for the NCAA Championship after tying for first on bars at the NCAA Lexington Regional Second Round on April 3. She posted a 9.925 to clinch her berth and secure her second consecutive regional bars title.
Her performance marked the top score among non-advancing team competitors at the regional, earning her the individual qualifying position to Fort Worth.
SEASON NOTES
Horton's junior campaign has been among the most consistent in the Southeastern Conference. She was named SEC Specialist of the Year, marking the third consecutive season a Tiger has earned the honor and the fifth time in the last seven years for MU.
At the SEC Championship, Horton finished as the vault runner-up with a 9.950 to earn All-SEC honors and added a 9.900 on floor to help Mizzou post the top team score on the event in Session I.
Following the regular season, Horton ranked 18th nationally on floor, 21st on vault and 25th on bars. She became the first Tiger to finish in the top 25 nationally in three events since Sarah Shire in 2011.
Horton recorded a career-best 9.975 on vault at the Ameritas Master's Classic during the 2026 season and posted season highs of 9.950 on both bars and floor.
LAST TIME OUT
Missouri has had at least one individual competitor in each of the last seven NCAA Championship Semifinals, with Horton continuing that streak in 2026.
In the program's most recent individual appearance, Mara Titarsolej represented the Black & Gold on bars at the 2024 NCAA Championship Semifinal. She qualified after posting a program postseason-record-tying 9.950 at the NCAA Gainesville Regional Second Round and finished the season as a WCGA Regular Season All-American.
In 2025, Helen Hu captured the NCAA balance beam national title with a 9.9875, clinching Mizzou's spot in the NCAA Championship Final and becoming the first individual national champion in program history.
