The Mizzou Women's Gymnastics team opened the state-of-the art Tiger Performance Complex (TPC) on Oct. 21, 2011. Sharing the facility with the Golden Girls, the 25,000 square foot facility is used as a practice facility for both programs.
The building houses offices for each program's staffs, as well as a lounge area, a training room, a cardio exercise area, and storage areas. In addition, both teams have locker room areas and a shower facility at the disposal of the student-athletes.
The Tiger Performance Complex boasts the latest in training equipment for the gymnastics team, which plays a vital role in off-season and in-season practices for the gymnasts.
Vault Equipment
Armed with three full vault runways, the gymnasts are able to execute this portion of the competition with more efficiency. At the end of each vault section, lies two resi and one loose foam pit for the protection of the Tigers athletes. Fittingly, an endless supply of black and gold cubes fill the loose foam pit.
Beam Equipment
To the right of the vault area, stands five beams for the participants. With safe and secure padding surrounding each beam, the gymnasts also have the opportunity to effectively end their beam routine as if it were a live competition. In addition, resi loose foam and competition landing areas are available.
Floor Routine Equipment
In the middle of the Tiger Performance Complex lies a full size floor exercise. With a series of mirrors lying on the wall nearest the apparatus, each Mizzou gymnast has the chance to view themselves during their practice routines for instant feedback.
Bars Equipment
To round out the TPC gymnastics practice area are three full sets of uneven bars. Similar to the vault section, the bars portion possesses protective foam pits and secure padding for each athlete.
Video Replay System
A brand new addition to the TPC in 2013, the gymnastics coaching staff had a new state-of-the-art video replay system installed for their athletes. With over 10 cameras strategically placed around the practice facility, the staff is now able to capture and record valuable footage of each individual practice. With corresponding high definition televisions placed by each competition area, the athletes and coaches are able to immediately watch and critique that day's performance. Armed with an interactive DVR function, each television can stop, rewind and slow down any portion of a routine.
