COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Track & Field continues its outdoor season at the John McDonnell Invitational, as the Tigers are set to have 36 athletes competing on April 11-12 at John McDonnell field. Competition begins Thursday with the men's decathlon at 1:00 p.m. CT, followed by the start of the field events with the women's hammer throw beginning at 3:30 p.m. Friday's events begin at 10:30 a.m., with the continuation of the multi-events, followed by the women's discus starting at 12:20 p.m.
Teams attending the John McDonnell invitational include Arkansas, Arkansas Baptist, Central Missouri, Drake, Missouri State, Oklahoma, Baptist, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Southwest Baptist, Tulsa, UMKC and Wichita State. Live results will be available through flashresults.com and a live stream will be available through SEC Network +.
For the men, sophomore Nylo Clarke (Riverside, Mo.) will be competing in the 100m dash after moving to No. 7 on the Mizzou top-10 list at the Mizzou Spring Open (April 6). Redshirt senior Avery Carter (Lee Summit, Mo.) will be in competition in the hammer throw, as he also improved his standing on the top-10 list at the Mizzou Spring Open (April 6), moving to No. 3 all-time.
For the women, redshirt senior Gabi Jacobs (Bloomington, Ill.) will look to improve upon her school record discus mark of 60.25m (197-8), which she set at the Herm Wilson Invitational (March 23). She will compete in both the discus and shot put on Friday. Redshirt sophomore Sophia Rivera (Brentwood, Mo.), Mizzou's school record holder in the javelin, will also be looking to build on her all-time best mark of 53.45m (175-4) from the Texas Relays (March 29).
