Mizzou wrestling takes the whole team north to Coralville, Iowa, for Soldier Salute on Saturday, Jan. 3, through Sunday, Jan. 4, inside Xtream Arena. The Tigers have 25 wrestlers slated to compete, with two registering unattached. The action can be streamed on B1G+ with Session I scheduled to start at 10 a.m. CT.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Tigers dropped their conference opener on the road at No. 15 Northern Iowa, 22-14, on Dec. 14.
- Redshirt seniors Josh Edmond (149) and Evan Bates (197), along with redshirt junior J Conway, earned decision wins for the team.
- Redshirt freshman Aeoden Sinclair continued his run of dominant performances with a technical fall over No. 28 CJ Walrath (20-4, 6:33) at 184 pounds.
RUNNING DOWN RANKINGS
- The Tigers come into the weekend at No. 18 in the NWCA Coaches Poll.
- Redshirt freshman Aeoden Sinclair ranks second at 184 pounds, the highest-ranked individual for Mizzou.
- The Tigers continue to have all 10 starters ranked, with three listed in the top 15 of their weight class.
PACING THE PACK
- Tied for team lead in wins are the heavys, with Aeoden Sinclair, Evan Bates and Jarrett Stoner all tallying 14. Sinclair has also accumulated the fewest losses with one.
- Bates and Sinclair top the team with eight bonus-point wins apiece.
- Sinclair is out in front with four falls, while Mack Mauger is close behind with three.
BUILT FOR BATTLE
- This will mark the first time the Tigers will send the whole squad to Soldier Salute.
- The Tigers are tentatively sending 26 wrestlers to take on competition from Army, Bellarmine, Iowa State, Navy, Oklahoma State, South Dakota State, Iowa, Minnesota, North Carolina, Northern Iowa, Wyoming and VMI.
- Mizzou has two wrestlers with No. 1 seeds in their weight class: Josh Edmond and Aeoden Sinclair.
- In total, the Tigers have 14 seeded among registered wrestlers.
HOMETOWN KID
- Mizzou's roster was bolstered by a mid-season signing of Teague Travis, a transfer from Oklahoma State.
- Travis, a product of Columbia and Father Tolton, spent the first three years of his career in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where he became a two-time NCAA Qualifier.
- The four-time Missouri State Champion has compiled a 41-14 record in college with one year of eligibility remaining.
- Additionally, Travis' father, Brooks Travis and uncle Corey Hodapp wrestled at Mizzou.

The Tiger continue on the road, traveling to Arizona State on Jan. 15, followed by a trip to Utah Valley on Jan. 17. Competition against the Sundevils will begin at 7:30 p.m. CT inside Desert Fincancial Arena, while action against the Wolverines will start at 8 p.m. CT inside Lockhart Arena.
