Lawrence Named to SEC Community Service Team

Junior Addison Lawrence garnered 47 hours of community service and has been a staple in the team’s beam lineup.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri gymnast Addison Lawrence (Olathe, Kan.) has been named the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the league office announced on Friday.
Lawrence is an advocate in her community, providing her time and completing a team-leading 47 hours of community service. She has volunteered her time with Special Olympics and the local children's hospital. With the Special Olympics, Lawrence attends their practices and is active in their events as well.
Lawrence is also one of the program's Team Impact captains, an organization that welcomes children with diseases to "sign" with a collegiate gymnastics program to participate in practice and meets with the team. Lawrence, a 2023 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association Scholastic All-American, earned a spot on the 2024 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll and the 2022-23 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Lawrence has consistently been featured in the team's balance beam lineup, where her national qualifying score of 9.885 ranks 39th. In the team's most recent meet at No. 16 Arkansas, the junior scored a season-best 9.950 on beam. She also has competed on bars this season, scoring a best of 9.900 against No. 12 Georgia. After being sidelined due to injury in 2024, she returned to the lineup for the first time in 643 days at the Beauty and the Beast and earned 9.900 on beam to claim the event title.
Mizzou travels to the 2025 SEC Championship on March 22 at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. The Tigers will join Oklahoma, LSU and Florida to compete in Session II scheduled for 7 p.m. This is the first time the program has made the night session of the championship meet since joining the conference in 2012. The contest will be televised on SEC Network.
