Mizzou women's basketball will face Cal in the third annual ACC/SEC Challenge at 8 p.m. Thursday in Mizzou Arena. The contest will be broadcast on SEC Network and the Tiger Radio Network.
Mizzou (7-2, 0-0 SEC) is coming off a pair of victories over Bradley and Northwestern last week in the Ft. Myers Tip-Off.
On Saturday, Tigers' head coach Kellie Harper earned her 400th career victory when the Tigers defeated the Wildcats.
Junior guard Grace Slaughter led Mizzou with a career-high 33 points against Northwestern. The junior's final basket marked her 1,000th-career point.
Mizzou has continued to rely on a balanced offensive attack this season as four or more Tigers have scored in double figures in seven contests.
Mizzou turned in one of its cleanest games of the season against Northwestern, finishing with a season-low seven turnovers.
As a team, Mizzou is second in the SEC in three-point percentage at 40.4 and ranks fourth in the conference and 21st nationally at 48.9 percent from the field.
Slaughter and junior guard Shannon Dowell lead the way offensively for the Tigers as the duo ranks fourth and eighth in the SEC at 19.6 and 17.4 points per game, respectively.
Mizzou's ball movement has been a key strength, assisting on 64 of its 66 made threes this season.
Dowell remains one of the nation's top free-throw contributors and enters the week tied for seventh nationally with 48 attempts. The Tigers also rank 35th in the country in free-throw percentage at 77.40.
In October, Slaughter was named to the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Preseason Watch List.
On National Signing Day, Missouri signed three top-100 recruits in Natalya Hodge (No. 54), Khloe Ford (No. 94) and Jada Maples (No. 95) in addition to Cecilie Brandimore and Ellie Mueller.
Cal enters the contest at 6-2 following a loss to Auburn on Wednesday.
The Golden Bears are coached by St. Louis native Charmin Smith, who is in her seventh year on the sidelines with an 87-91 record.
Cal has four players averaging double-figures, headlined by junior guard Lulu Twidale at 14.6 points per game.
The Tigers will recognize Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Residence Hall Association during the contest.
