No. 14 Gymnastics Heads to Los Angeles for NCAA Regional Action

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 11 University of Missouri gymnastics team travels to Los Angeles, Calif., to compete in the 2023 NCAA UCLA Regional Second Round on Thursday, March 30 at 9 p.m. CT. The Tigers will compete in the second session against No. 4 UCLA, No. 20 Stanford and Boise State. The meet will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
The morning session will host No. 5 Utah, No. 12 Auburn, No. 21 Southern Utah and Washington. The top two teams from each session will advance to Saturday's regional final, set for 7 p.m. CT. The top two finishers in the regional final will advance to the national championships.
The 2022 NCAA Regional marks Mizzou's eighth-consecutive and 32nd overall regional appearance.
SECOND ROUND ROTATIONS
As the second seed in the first session of the second round, Missouri will start the meet on floor. From there, the Tigers go to vault in the second rotation, move to bars, and conclude the meet on beam.

The University of Missouri gymnastics team recorded its highest-ever conference championship score with 197.000 to place sixth at the 2023 Southeastern Conference Championships on March 18 at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Ga. The 197 bested 196.825 recorded at the 2022 SEC Championships.

On vault, sophomore Jocelyn Moore was the vault champion with a 9.950, which was the highest score in the afternoon session. On floor, Moore scored 9.90.

Sophomore Amari Celestine tied for fifth overall on floor with a 9.875. On vault, Celestine tallied a 9.90 and on bars, she tallied a 9.850.
SCHREIBER AND MOORE CLAIMS REGULAR SEASON ALL-AMERICA HONORS

Jocelyn Moore and Helen Hu were named Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Regular Season All-Americans, the organization announced on Thursday, March 23. Moore claimed first team honors on vault, while Hu claimed second team honors on beam.

Moore currently ranks fifth on vault with an NQS of 9.940. Overall, she totaled six scores of 9.900 or higher and five scores of 9.925 or better on vault in 11 meets this year, including a 10.0. This is the sophomore's second consecutive first team accolade on vault.

Over the course of the 2023 season, Moore has won 10 event titles, with seven on vault, one on bars and two on floor. In addition to her vault NQS, Moore also carries an NQS of 9.90, thanks to a career-best of 9.975 on floor.

Hu currently ranks tied for ninth on beam with an NQS of 9.945. Overall, she totaled seven scores of 9.95 or higher and five scores of 9.95 or better on beam in 11 meets this year, including tying her career-high 9.975.

Over the course of the 2023 season, Hu has won six event titles, with four on beam and two on bars. In addition to her beam NQS, Hu also carries NQSs of 9.91 on bars thanks to a season-best 9.95.
