Mizzou Tennis Set for SEC Tournament in Tuscaloosa

Mizzou opens with No. 11-seed Arkansas at 5 p.m. CT on Monday
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis will play in the SEC Women's Tennis Tournament this week in Tuscaloosa, Ala., beginning with a first-round matchup against Arkansas on Monday at 5 p.m. CT. Mizzou is the No. 14 seed in the tournament while the Razorbacks enter as the No. 11 seed.
Mizzou enters the tournament with a record of 15-15 and 1-12 in SEC play. Mizzou's 15 wins rank as the fifth-most in a single season, matching its win totals from the 2002-03 and 2004-05 seasons. Mizzou's only seasons with better win totals in program history are 1978-79 (24), 1980-81 (23), 1979-80 (17) and 2015-16 (16). The Tigers' 4-3 victory over No. 25 Mississippi State (No. 13 seed) was its highest-ranked win since beating No. 17 Texas A&M, 4-3, on March 3, 2017.
A pair of ranked Tigers will be looking to improve their positioning for the NCAA Tournament this week, as junior Bronte Murgett (Holmfirth, Great Britain) ranks No. 66 in the Oracle/ITA National Singles Rankings, while Murgett and senior Marta Oliveira (Lisbon, Portugal) rank No. 36 in the National Doubles Rankings.
