
Busy Four-Match Week for Tennis

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou tennis features a busy week of both road and home matches.
Missouri starts in Normal, Illinois, on Wednesday, March 18, to play Illinois State at 12:30 p.m. CT. Mizzou then heads back to Columbia for a doubleheader at home on Thursday, March 19. The Black and Gold take on Eastern Kentucky at 9:30 a.m. CT and Southeastern Conference opponent No. 7 LSU at 1 p.m. CT. Pending the weather, the Thursday doubleheader will take place outdoors at the Country Club of Missouri. Follow Mizzou tennis on X (@Mizzou_Tennis) for the most up-to-date information. To close out the weekend, Mizzou faces an SEC road match at Ole Miss on Saturday, March 21, at 1 p.m. CT.
Missouri (9-9, 0-7 SEC) is coming off a tough weekend of SEC matches at both Alabama and Mississippi State, which resulted in two losses. Freshman Alex Ackman was out with an injury, resulting in a doubles and singles withdrawal in both matches for the Tigers.
The Tigers have won their last three matches against Illinois State, dating back to 2012, and look to extend their win streak against the 10-3 Redbirds.
Against Eastern Kentucky, Mizzou is 0-1 all-time, with their only matchup being in 1994. The Colonels are currently 6-11 on the season.
SEC opponent LSU (10-5, 3-4 SEC) is ranked No. 7 and is coming off a 4-0 win at Arkansas and a 0-4 loss at No. 10 Oklahoma. The Black and Gold are 0-14 all-time when playing the LSU Tigers.
Finally, Ole Miss is 7-6 overall and 2-5 in the conference. Its most recent matches include a 6-1 win over Arkansas and a 0-4 loss at No. 10 Oklahoma. The Tigers look to improve their 1-14 overall record against the Rebels.
