Tennis Earns Midweek Road Win at Illinois State

Mizzou tennis earned a 4-1 midweek win on Wednesday, March 18, at Illinois State, marking their fourth consecutive win over the Redbirds and increasing their all-time record to 6-2.
The Tigers started doubles with a speedy 6-0 win from senior Andrea Artimedi and sophomore Gian Octa. Freshman Alex Ackman and sophomore Korina Roso followed suit, earning a 6-4 victory and clinching the doubles point. Mizzou duo freshman Lara Quaglia and sophomore Zoe Lazar were trailing by a point, 4-3, when the team clinched the doubles point, resulting in their match going unfinished.
First to secure a singles win for the Black and Gold was Roso with a 6-4,6-2 score, followed by Octa, who won her match 6-4, 6-1. Lazar was unable to pull away with a win after a back-and-forth match, including two tiebreakers; however, Quaglia won her match in three sets, clinching the match for Mizzou. Artimedi and Ackman were each leading when both of their matches went unfinished.
