Murgett gets ranked win over No. 50 Bridges

BATON ROUGE, La. – Mizzou Tennis (15-15, 1-12 SEC) fell to No. 11/12 LSU (14-4, 9-4 SEC), 4-1, on Saturday afternoon in Baton Rouge, La. The highlight of the day from Mizzou came from junior Bronte Murgett (Holmfirth, Great Britain), who won in singles and doubles competition.

DOUBLES

In doubles play, Mizzou's team of Murgett and senior Marta Oliveira (Lisbon, Portugal) picked up another victory to improve to 8-5 on the season. The duo beat Safiya Carrington and Maggie Curbitt, 6-2 at the No. 1 position. LSU won the doubles point after winning on courts two and three.

SINGLES

In singles play, Texas A&M won on courts three, five and six. However, Murgett earned the best win of her season at the No. 1 spot, beating No. 50 Taylor Bridges, 6-0, 6-2.

UP NEXT

Next, Mizzou will play in the SEC Tournament in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The tournament is slated to being Monday, April 19.
