COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 21 Mizzou gymnastics team travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to take on No. 7 Alabama on Friday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. CT. The meet will be broadcast live on SEC Network +.
TIGER TIDBITS
- Mizzou is ranked 21st in the RoadtoNationals.com national rankings (based on average score).
- The Tigers also rank 16th nationally on floor (49.070), 18th on beam (48.940), 19th on vault (48.975) and 29th on bars (48.700).
- Additionally, freshman Helen Hu ranks fifth nationally on beam with an average of 9.920.
- Last time out, Missouri suffered a 196.025-195.075 loss to No. 14 Arkansas on Jan. 31.
- Against the Razorbacks, the Tigers tallied a season-best score of 49.375 on floor to close the meet.

- Redshirt senior Morgan Porter won three titles against the Razorbacks, with wins on vault (9.875), bars (9.875) and floor (9.925). They were her fourth, fifth and sixth wins of the season.
- Junior Gabrielle Gottula tied Porter for the vault title for her first event win of 2020.
- Missouri recorded season-best scores on beam (49.425), vault (49.300) and bars (49.225) at Auburn. The beam score stands as the second-highest total in program history, while the vault total is tied for sixth in the record books, and second on the event since vault start values were changed.
- Hu won the beam and bars titles on Jan. 24, thanks to scores of 9.95 and 9.925, respectively.
- Missouri's program record 16-meet stretch with a 49 or higher on floor was snapped on Jan. 17, as the team went 48.900 on the apparatus.
- Mizzou's event scores of 49.350 on floor and 49.200 on beam on Jan. 4 mark the highest-ever for the team on the events in a season opener. Missouri's previous best season-opening floor score was 49.325 against Iowa State on Jan. 11, 2004, while the previous high on beam was 49.175 against Illinois and Ball State on Jan. 6, 2017.
- Mizzou returns seven gymnasts from last year's team and welcomes eight newcomers to the roster.
- Head Coach Shannon Welker is in his seventh season at the helm of the Tigers. Last season, Mizzou knocked off four top 25 teams, including a win over No. 10 Kentucky and a tie with No. 7 Michigan. The Tigers also recorded the second-highest beam score in program history (49.425), the sixth (49.425) and seventh (49.400) best floor scores and the ninth-best vault total (49.275) over the course of the campaign.
LAST TIME OUT
- Redshirt senior Morgan Porter won at least a share of three event titles in a 196.025-195.075 loss for the No. 20 Mizzou gymnastics team to No. 14 Arkansas on Jan. 31 at the Hearnes Center.
- Porter won the bars crown outright and tied for the vault and floor wins for her fourth, fifth and sixth titles of the season. Junior Gabrielle Gottula tied Porter for the vault crown for her first win of the season.
- Mizzou started the meet with a 49.175 on vault in the first rotation, highlighted by 9.875s from Porter and Gottula. The score was easily a career-high for Gottula, who entered the meet with a best of 9.825. Freshman Kambrie Brandt tallied a 9.825 and sophomore Hannah McCrary and freshman Sienna Schreiber added 9.8s.
- Porter scored a season-high 9.875 on bars as Mizzou went 48.175 as a team on the apparatus. Schreiber also tied her personal-best with a 9.8
- Freshman Helen Hu went 9.9 in the anchor position on beam to record her fifth score of 9.9 or higher on the event in five meets this season. Her score was a team-best on the event, while Schreiber and sophomore Alisa Sheremeta both earned 9.75s.
- The Tigers concluded the night with a season-high 49.375 on floor thanks to four scores of at least 9.875. Porter led the way with a season-best 9.925. Hu and Schreiber both recorded career-bests with 9.875s and Sheremeta led off the rotation with a 9.875 as well. McCrary added a 9.825 and Gottula went 9.8.

- Mizzou travels to St. Charles, Mo., to compete in the Mardi Gras Invitational on Friday, Feb. 14. The Tigers will take on No. 9 LSU, No. 18 Iowa State and Lindenwood at 7 p.m. at The Family Arena.

- She won the bars title outright and tied for the vault and floor crowns with a 9.925 on floor and 9.875s on vault and bars.
- Porter now has five event titles over the last two meets and six overall on the season.
- Porter owns a 9.890 average on floor this season with all five scores of 9.875 or higher.
TIGERS POST SEASON-BEST SCORE AT AUBURN
- Mizzou erupted for a season-best high 196.650 in a narrow loss to No. 14 Auburn on Jan. 24.
- The team score was a season-high by over a point.
- The Tigers also tallied season-bests on beam (49.425), vault (49.300) and bars (49.225).
- The beam total of 49.425 stands as the second-highest score on the event in program history, behind just a 49.500.
- The 49.300 on vault is tied for the sixth-best and is the second-best score since vault start values changed prior to the 2016 season.
FRESHMEN MAKING THEIR IMPACT
- Five meets into the 2020 season, Mizzou's freshmen class has made an impact
- So far, freshmen have made up 34.2 percent of the team's routines, with 41 of the 120 total coming from the class.
- Overall, the 41 routines by the freshmen led the team, followed by 31 from the senior class, 27 from the sophomore class and 21 from the junior class.
HU ONE OF THE NATION'S BEST BEAM WORKERS
- Freshman Helen Hu stands as one of the top beam workers in the nation only five meets into her collegiate career.
- Hu currently ranks fifth nationally on the event with an average score of 9.920.
- She has tallied a 9.9 or better on beam in all five meets this season, with two 9.95s and three 9.925s.
- Hu also stands as the only the second freshman in Tiger history to score a 9.95 on the event, joining Morgan Porter, who accomplished the feat in 2016.
SCHREIBER COMING UP BIG
- Freshman Sienna Schreiber has been one of Mizzou's most consistent competitors over the season.
- Competing as an all-arounder the last three weeks, she has total scores of 39.375, 39.225 and 39.000.
- At Auburn on Jan. 24, Schreiber tallied a career-high 9.9 on floor and tied her beam best with a 9.85.
- She added a personal-best 9.875 on floor against Arkansas and twice went 9.8 on bars this season.
- Schreiber owns averages of 9.842 on floor, 9.805 on beam, 9.765 on vault and 9.640 on bars.
TIGERS GO BIG ON BEAM AT AUBURN
- Mizzou closed the Auburn meet with a 49.425 on beam in the final rotation.
- The score stands as the second-highest score on the event in program history, behind only a 49.500 against Kentucky on March 10, 2017.
- The Tigers' top three beam scores have all come in the last four seasons under the direction of associate head coach Casey Jo MacPherson.
