Mizzou records 13 first-place finishes at the meet
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Track & Field hosted the Mizzou Open on Friday at the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse, as the Tigers recorded 13 first-place finishes, including every field event it had entries in. Redshirt junior Jordan McClendon (Black Jack, Mo.) provided one of the many highlights of the meet, as she moved up the nation's leaderboard to fourth with her first place finish in the weight throw.
NOTABLE FINISHES
McClendon set a new personal record and finished first in the women's weight throw with a mark of 21.74m (71-4), which currently ranks as the fourth-best throw in the nation this season. The throw improved McClendon's No. 2 mark in program history as she continues to approach Kearsten Peoples' 2015 school record throw of 22.84m (74-11.25).

In sprint events, Mizzou swept both the 60m dash and 200m dash, as senior Maya Cody (St. Louis, Mo.) won both in the women's events, while redshirt sophomore Ja'Mari Ward (Cahokia, Ill.) won the 60m dash and freshman Jayshon Ashford (Fairview Heights, Ill.) won the 200m dash for the women.
