Hear From Coach Fogue
On dropping Saturday's matchup against the Gators…
"Like Friday's series opener, we were competing very well against Florida throughout much of the game. Today, it was a one-run ballgame for much of the day and we certainly had our chances to take the lead. In the third inning we had a runner on third with zero outs and couldn't deliver. Then in the fifth inning we had the bases loaded with one out and came up short. If either of those situations go in our favor then today is a different ballgame."
#MIZ Takeaways
- Mizzou outhit Florida today despite dropping the game. Five separate Tigers recorded a hit, highlighted by Martin's 10th double of the season.
- Doubles have been a positive for the Tigers all season, as they will enter Sunday's series finale with 77 overall. Martin is now one of five Mizzou batters with 10-plus doubles this year.
- Additionally, the Tigers' 77 team doubles this year ranks 10th all-time in a single-season in program history. They are now only one double away from tying for eighth place in the single-season record book.
