Series History vs. Florida
- Mizzou trails in the all-time series against Florida, 9-4.
- In the teams' last meeting, the Gators tallied a shortened two-game series sweep in Gainesville, Florida, a season ago (March 11-12, 2017).
- This weekend marks Florida's first visit to Columbia, Missouri, in three years, as it took two of three contests over Mizzou at University Field (May 1-3, 2015). The two teams closed that year's regular season as well with Mizzou salvaging a game with a 3-2 series finale eight-inning victory.
Mizzou Pitching Steps Up in Four-Game Winning Streak
- Mizzou enters Friday evening's series opener on a four-game winning streak. The Tigers posted a pair of non-conference doubleheader sweeps last week (at Western Illinois - April 25 // vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff - April 28).
- Mizzou's pitching staff stole the show over its recent stretch, posting four consecutive shutouts in the circle. It marked the program's first four-straight wins via shutout since 2012.
- Dating back to the conclusion of Mizzou's series finale at No. 12 South Carolina (April 22), the team's pitching staff has tossed 29-straight scoreless innings. Last week, Madi Norman, Lauren Rice, Danielle Baumgartner and Nalani Scates limited the Leathernecks & Golden Lions hitters to zero runs and 12 hits (.130 BAA) over 27.0 innings pitched.
Tigers Flourishing at Mizzou Softball Stadium This Season
- Mizzou possesses a strong 13-4 record this year at Mizzou Softball Stadium, including four of its six conference wins. The Tigers have taken down No. 8 Auburn (twice), No. 13 LSU and No. 20 Mississippi State in front of their passionate fan base.
- Both the Mizzou lineup and pitching staff have fared better in home games this season. Over 17 games in Mid-Missouri, the Tigers' offense is hitting .289 with 93 runs scored, 30 doubles, 19 home runs, 87 RBI, .376 OBP and .495 SLG%.
- In the circle, Mizzou's five-man pitching staff has posted a 2.27 ERA in 117.0 IP while limiting batters to a .242 BAA.
- A whopping six Tigers (Kolby Romaine - .385, Brooke Wilmes - .347, Trenity Edwards - .345, Amanda Sanchez - .342, Cayla Kessinger - .341 and Rylee Pierce - .313) have an impressive .300-plus average in home contests this year.
