HOOVER, Ala. – Mizzou Women's Golf tees off the 2018 SEC Women's Golf Championship on Wednesday at the Greystone Golf & Country Club outside of Birmingham. This is the sixth consecutive year for the Southeastern Conference Championship to be played at the Greystone Golf and Country Club on the Legacy Course. Tee times begin at 9:10 a.m. CT for the Black & Gold, with an opening round of stroke play. Three opening rounds will determine whether the Tigers move on to the Quarterfinals on Saturday, April 21. The Quarterfinals and Semifinals will feature match play on Saturday, followed by a Championship round of match play on Sunday, April 22.
The SEC Championship poses a tough field, with the league boasting six GolfStat Top-25 teams. Joining Mizzou in Hoover will be No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Arkansas, No. 20 Auburn, No. 13 Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, No. 10 South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and No. 24 Vanderbilt.
Mizzou's lineup for the SEC Championship includes junior Amanda Kim (O'Fallon, Mo.), junior Cayce Hendrickson (Benton, Ky.), senior Clara Young (North Berwick, Scotland), junior Emma Allen (Southampton, England) and sophomore Jess Yuen (Bolingbrook, Ill.).
Yuen returns to the links after a strong Top-10 finish at the Bruzzy Challenge in Texas. The sophomore moved up 12 spots on the leaderboard to snag T-8th on the final day of the Challenge, bringing home her fifth Top-10 finish of the 2017-2018 season.
Hendrickson had strong showings in the last two tournaments, placing T-16th at the Bruzzy and T-8th at the MountainView Collegiate the week before. The junior has made quite the turnaround for her spring campaign by consistently playing at the top of the field.
Allen is set in the lineup for her third SEC Championship since starting her career as a Tiger. The England native began the season as a top contender in the SEC with two second-place finishes last fall and five Top-10 finishes for the year.
It will be a final go at the SEC Championship for Young as she finishes up her final season as a Tiger. Kim will also join the Tiger squad down south after completing her second best event of the year at the Bruzzy Challenge.
