COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou women's golf freshman Ebba Liljeberg has been named to the 2026 All-SEC Freshman Team as announced by the conference office on Friday.
Liljeberg becomes just the third athlete in Mizzou history to be named to the freshman team and the first since Jessica Yuen in 2018.
This honor adds to the plethora of accomplishments Liljeberg has achieved during her freshman campaign. In the first tournament of the year, she tied the lowest round in relative-to-par in NCAA history at 11-under.
Liljeberg shot a -19 at the Sam Golden Invitational from Sept. 8-9, winning by nine shots. She broke both the single-round and 54-hole records, scoring a 61 in round two.
Liljeberg was the top finisher for the Tigers at the SEC Championship and is currently on pace to break the individual freshman season stroke average at 71.48. 1.52 strokes better than Yuen, the current record holder in 2016-17.
The Helsingborg, Sweden native helped bring home four team titles for the Tigers this season, which is the most for the program since the 1987-88 season.
A consistent performer, she holds four top-five finishes and five top-ten finishes. Her three top-five finishes in the fall set the record for most ever by a freshman during the fall season.
Liljeburg has guided Mizzou to an NCAA Regional appearance, which will take place from May 11-13. The team appearance is the first for the Tigers since 2018. Mizzou will look to qualify for the team championships for the first time since 2005.
