#ShowMe Mizzou Game Notes
Series History vs. Arkansas
- Mizzou leads the all-time series over the Razorbacks, 11-6.
- The two teams last squared off a year ago in Columbia, Missouri, for a three-game series. Arkansas took two of three overall, as all three matchups were decided by two runs or less.
- The Tigers last visited Fayetteville in 2015, as they produced a three-game series sweep at Bogle Park. Mizzou dominated in all facets of the game, outscoring the Razorbacks, 30-1.
Tigers Split Doubleheader at SEMO
- Mizzou made the trek south to Southeast Missouri State on Wednesday and split an evening doubleheader against the Redhawks. The Tigers opened the night with an emphatic 10-2 run-rule victory in five innings, but closed things out with a disappointing 8-2 loss.
- In her first start of the season, Paige Bange delivered in a big way in game one of the doubleheader. Bange tallied her first multi-hit game and home run of the year, as her grand slam in the fifth inning was Mizzou's first since April 18, 2017.
- Following seven consecutive games without a home run, Mizzou's offense broke out with three home runs in game one against SEMO. It marked the Tigers' fourth outing with three-plus home runs this year.
Mizzou Checks-in at No. 23 in First NCAA RPI Rankings
- The NCAA released its first edition of the 2018 Softball RPI rankings Monday (March 19) and Mizzou checked-in at No. 23 overall.
- The Tigers' top 25 placement is largely due to possessing the nation's No. 1 ranked strength of schedule. Through 33 games played this season, Mizzou has squared off against 12 top 25 RPI teams and 16 matchups against top 50 RPI opponents.
- Mizzou's top RPI victories thus far are against No. 18 Mississippi State (March 17), No. 43 Wisconsin (Feb. 24) and No. 46 BYU (Feb. 22).
- The Tigers have regularly competed well versus the nation's elite, including close contests against No. 3 UCLA, No. 5 Tennessee, No. 16 Oregon State, No. 18 Mississippi State and No. 24 Oklahoma State.
- To no one's surprise, the deeply talented Southeastern Conference holds the nation's top conference RPI. All 13 SEC programs are ranked top 35 RPI in the country, including three top 10 teams and seven top 20 clubs.
