Sanchez and Wilmes tally multi-hit games despite the loss
CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – Mizzou Softball (10-7) concluded its four-day stay at the Mary Nutter Classic Sunday with a 4-0 loss to No. 3 UCLA. The Tigers repeatedly had solid scoring chances early on, but failed to deliver a run-producing hit against the Bruins pitching staff.
Mizzou ended its trip with a solid 4-2 record, as it produced the exact six-game stretch as last weekend at the Michele Smith Invitational in Clearwater, Florida. The Tigers' 2018 non-conference tournament finale is scheduled for next weekend in Columbia, Missouri, for the Mizzou Tournament.

On the Tigers' overall trip at the Mary Nutter Classic…
"We didn't end our weekend like we wanted to today, but we fought hard again against a top nationally ranked opponent like UCLA. If you take away a couple defensive miscues in the third inning, we're only looking at a one or two-run deficit late. Overall this weekend we did a lot of good things and we continue to get better as a whole. We're all excited to finally play in front of our home fans next weekend with the Mizzou Tournament."
