COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Women's Basketball (16-8, 6-4) battles its second consecutive ranked opponent on the road when the Tigers travel to No. 24 Tennessee on Thursday. Tip off on SEC Network is set for 6 p.m. CT.
OF NOTE
- Mizzou needs one more win to clinch its fifth consecutive winning season. The last time the Tigers put together five straight winning seasons was 1985-90.
- Mizzou is searching for its first win over the Lady Vols in Knoxville. This is the fifth time in the last six meetings that Tennessee enters the contest ranked.
- Mizzou has been dominant in first quarters this season, outscoring opponents 421-320 in the frame, including 167-116 in SEC play.
- Mizzou currently has four wins over Top-25 RPI opponents, including Creighton, Texas A&M, Kentucky and Auburn.
- Mizzou is looking for its first road win over a ranked SEC opponent since beating No. 12 Texas A&M on Feb. 26, 2015.
- After making 19-of-20 free throws at Mississippi State, the Tigers have shot better than 80 percent from the charity stripe in a single game 11 times this season and better than 70 percent an SEC-high 21 times.
- With 455 career assists, Lianna Doty tops active SEC players in career dimes. She has 46 more assists than any other active SEC player. She ranks 26th among active Division I players in career assists. Doty needs just 16 more assists to move into second all-time in program history.
FULL 40 MINUTES
- Entering the 2016-17 season, redshirt senior Lindsey Cunningham had never played a full game. She's now played the full 40 minutes in back to back games and played 40+ minutes four different times this season.
- Lindsey is one of nine players in the SEC with at least four 40+-minute games. She ranks 10th in the SEC with a team-high 33.7 minutes per contest and sixth in the league in total minutes played with 810.
- Lindsey has played in a team-high 120 career games. The all-time program record is 131 career games. She is one of nine Tigers in program history with at least 300 career assists. She has also shot 39 percent for her career from beyond the arc, which currently ranks fifth all-time at Mizzou.
REBOUNDING EDGE
- Despite having just one true forward playing 15 minutes or more per game, Mizzou has outrebounded opponents 18 times in 24 games this season, going 14-4 in those contests.
- The Tigers have limited opponents to a league-low 31.7 rebounds per contest during SEC play. Mizzou ranks fourth in the SEC in defensive rebound percentage (69.9 percent) and second in total defensive rebounds (661).
- Mizzou recently outrebounded Mississippi State, 43-25. The +18-rebound margin was the best by a Mississippi State opponent this season. Mizzou was just the second team to outrebound the fourth-ranked Bulldogs in 2016-17.
- Mizzou grabbed 40+ rebounds in three consecutive games vs. Texas A&M, Arkansas and Auburn. The last time the Tigers did that in three straight SEC games was during the 2014-15 season (1/4/15-1/11/15 against MSU, UGA and UF). Mizzou had a 40+ rebound game as a team just four times total in SEC play last season. The Tigers have four such games already this season and are 3-1 in those contests.
LAST TIME OUT
- Mizzou's five-game winning streak was snapped at No. 5 Mississippi State on Sunday as the Tigers fell on the road, 70-53.
- Sophomore guard Sophie Cunningham led Mizzou with 19 points and nine rebounds.
- Mizzou's trio of true freshmen, Amber Smith, Jordan Chavis and Jordan Roundtree combined to score 19 points off the bench. Roundtree finished with a career-high six points.
