OF NOTE
- Mizzou has 19 victories for the third straight season. The last time the Tigers won at least 19 games in three straight seasons was 1984-1987.
- Mizzou is looking for its 20th win of the campaign. The last time the Tigers won 20 games in back-to-back seasons was 1985-86 & 1986-87.
- Mizzou's nine conference wins matches its most in a season since joining the SEC (2005-06). The last time the Tigers won at least eight conference games in back-to-back seasons was 1986-87 and 1987-88.
- The Tigers' free throw percentage as a team, 80.0 percent, is on pace to set single-season program and SEC records. Only 17 teams have shot above 80 percent from the charity stripe in a season in NCAA history.
- Mizzou has clinched its fifth consecutive winning season. The last time the Tigers put together five straight winning seasons was 1985-90.
- Mizzou now has its second win streak of three or more in conference play this season. The Tigers have five such streaks since joining the SEC and 10 such streaks since the 1999-2000 season.
- Mizzou has not lost to Ole Miss as official members of the SEC, winning the last two meetings by an average of 14.0 points.
- Mizzou's win over No. 6 South Carolina was its first over a Top 10 opponent since the Tigers beat No. 6 Mississippi State last season.
- Mizzou's senior class has won 77 games, the most since the 1987-88 senior class.
- Mizzou has won eight out of its last 10 games, winning five in a row in January and three in a row since a loss to Tennessee on Feb. 9
- Mizzou's five-game win streak in January, which was snapped at Mississippi State, was its longest in conference play since 1990 and the second streak of four wins or more in SEC play since joining the league.
- With victories over South Carolina, Texas A&M and Kentucky during the streak, the Tigers have downed five straight ranked opponents at Mizzou Arena, dating back to last season.
- Mizzou currently has four wins over Top-20 RPI opponents, including Creighton, Texas A&M, Kentucky and South Carolina. Mizzou's current RPI is 22, the highest its been this season. Mizzou's four wins over Top-20 RPI opponents is more than nine of the 16 teams released in the NCAA's Top 16 seeds on Monday. Only Notre Dame, Baylor and UConn have more Top-20 RPI victories.
- Mizzou's strength of schedule is also ranked No. 12, which is better than half of the teams in the current Top 16.
- In the 4 leagues with the highest conference RPI (PAC 12, SEC, ACC, Big 12), only 18 teams have 9 or more conference wins, including Mizzou.
AWARDS SWEEP
- Sophie Cunningham won a pair of National Player of the Week awards (ESPNW and USBWA) for the first time in her career and her second SEC Player of the Week award this season after an outstanding week. Cunningham averaged 27.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists over two wins last week. She poured in 26 points as Mizzou toppled No. 6 South Carolina, scoring the game-winner with 0.6 seconds left.
- Cunningham is one of eight players in the nation with at least five games of totaling least 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists. All five of those performances came at home this season.
- She has scored 895 career points. That's the 2nd-most ever scored by a Tiger sophomore, trailing only Julie Helm's 1,065 points.
- The sophomore paced Mizzou with 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting (62.5 percent) vs. Alabama, scored 32 points on 12-of-17 shooting at LSU, posted a season-high 36 points against Texas A&M, poured in 28 points at Florida and tallied 26 points vs. No. 6 South Carolina. The 36 point-outburst is the 2nd-best performance in the SEC during conference play thus far and she's one of two players in the league to record multiple 30-point games since the conference slate began.
- Cunningham went 10-for-19 from the field and 14-of-15 from the free throw line vs. Texas A&M. She is the first Tiger in 15 seasons to make 10 field goals and 10 free throws in the same game and she's now done it twice in her career (Wake Forest last season).
- The South Carolina performance marked the seventh time since her return from a back injury that Cunningham has notched at least 20 points in a game. She's now reached 20 points in a game eight times this season and 18 times in her young career (which includes just 58 total games played).
- After averaging 14.0 points per game a season ago on her way to capturing SEC Freshman of the Year honors, Cunningham has pushed her average to 17.2 points per game in 2016-17. That ranks fourth in the SEC thus far.
- Cunningham is the only player in the SEC shooting above 45 percent from the field (47.1 percent) and above 80 percent from the free throw line (83.9 percent) this season.
LAST TIME OUT
- Mizzou knocked off No. 6 South Carolina, 62-60, on Sunday afternoon at Mizzou Arena with a game-winning layup by sophomore guard Sophie Cunningham.
- Cunningham paved the way for the Tigers, scoring 26 points (10-16 FG, 5-6 FT) and hauling in seven rebounds. Cunningham has now scored 20 or more points in eight games this season.
- Sophomore forward Cierra Porter also made an impact as she recorded her 11th double-double, dropping in 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
- Senior guard Sierra Michaelis added 11 points.
