Mizzou Set for Cal Classic Riding Three-Game Win Streak
- Mizzou has been on fire from the field as a team leading in to the Cal Classic, shooting 53.3 percent (24-of-45) against Wright State on Nov. 16 and 53.2 percent (25-of-47) at Missouri State on Nov. 19.
- It marked the first time the Tigers have shot above 53 percent in back-to-back games since Nov. 15, 2014 and Nov. 17, 2014 when Mizzou shot 56.1 percent against Western Illinois and 59.3 percent against SEMO.
- Mizzou is the only team in the Southeastern Conference to shoot above 53 percent from the field in multiple games this season so far.
- The Tigers are also made 52.9 percent of its 3-point attempts vs. Wright State (9-of-17). That was Mizzou's highest single-game 3-point percentage as a team since shooting 60.9 percent from beyond the arc in a 100-65 win over Ole Miss on Feb. 23, 2017.
- Redshirt senior Jordan Frericks has been relentless in her return to the court. She scored 24 points vs. Western Kentucky, 23 points vs. Quinnipiac and 26 points vs. Wright State. She is just the second Tiger in program history with at least 23 points in three consecutive games to open a season, joining Renee Kelly (1987).
- Frericks leads the SEC in scoring average with 24.3 points per game and total points with 73. She ranks fifth in the nation in total points scored and third in scoring average among those who have played in at least three games.
- With Sophie Cunningham joining Frericks in Mizzou's 1,000-point club, Mizzou is now the third SEC team to boast two players with 1,000 career points, joining Alabama & Mississippi State.
- Frericks and Cunningham are the only duo in the SEC averaging at least 19 points per game and their 159 combined total points are the most by two players on the same team in the SEC in 2017-18 thus far.
- Cunningham notched a team-high 25 points in the season-opener and followed with 26 points against Missouri State. She is one of two players in the SEC to score 25+ points in a game twice this season. A season ago, Cunningham reached double figures 26 times and scored at least 20 points on 10 occasions. She has 22 total 20-point performances.
- Cunningham ranks fourth in the league in points per game with 20.3. She is one of three players in the SEC in the top five in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.533) and top 10 in field goal percentage (.596).
- Cierra Porter is grabbing a team-high 11.5 rebounds per game, which ranks third in the SEC, and a league-high 9.0 defensive rebounds per game. She's also averaging 11.3 points per game, making her one of five players in the league averaging a double-double. Only four players in the history of Mizzou's program have averaged a double-double over a full season with the most recent player being Kesha Bonds in 1997-98. Her 11.5 rebounds per game currently ranks second all-time in program history in a single season.
- Her 36 total defensive rebounds rank seventh in the nation among players who have appeared in four games or less.
Mizzou vs. the Cal Classic Field
- Mizzou has never faced either Coppin State or Manhattan. The Tigers have played California just once, falling, 82-70, in the 2014 Wahine Classic in Honolulu.
- The Tigers have a combined record of 4-2 in their last three Thanksgiving tournaments, winning the Saint Mary's Hilton Concord Thanksgiving Classic in nearby Moraga, Calif., in 2015.
- Mizzou could potentially face No. 21 California on Saturday, setting up a matchup between two Top 25 teams. Mizzou has 52 wins in program history over AP Top 25 teams. The Tigers are 91-41 as a ranked team.
