OF NOTE
- Despite being separated by just 285 miles, Mizzou and Indiana State have squared off just once in their program histories. The lone matchup came in 1992, when Mizzou senior center Lynette Linneman dropped 21 points in a 63-45 rout.
- While Mizzou doesn't have much experience facing the Sycamores, Indiana State was a former Missouri Valley Conference rival of head coach Robin Pingeton during her time at Illinois State.
- Coach Pingeton is 11-6 all-time against the Sycamores. She won six of the last seven matchups against Indiana State before taking the job at Mizzou.
- Mizzou continues to be dominant at Mizzou Arena in nonconference play. The Tigers have won 25 consecutive nonconference games at home, with the last loss coming on March 20, 2013 in the Postseason WNIT.
- Mizzou's winning streak in nonconference regular season games at Mizzou Arena has swelled to 39 consecutive victories with the last defeat occurring on December 5, 2010, at the hands of Northwestern in the Big 12/Big Ten Challenge.
STIFLING DEFENSE
- Mizzou is holding opponents to 28.8-percent shooting from the field this season, which ranks second in the SEC and 11th in the nation. Mizzou is one of just 17 Division I programs holding opponents to a sub-30 field goal percentage.
- In Mizzou's 55-35 win at Nebraska, the Huskers' 35 points matched the fewest they have scored in a game as an NCAA program and the fewest since 1975.
- Mizzou's 17 steals against Abilene Christian were the most the Tigers have collected in a game during the Pingeton coaching era.
#DOTYDIMES
- Through three games, redshirt senior point guard Lianna Doty is averaging a team-high 3.6 assists per game.
- With 384 career assists, Doty tops active SEC players in career dimes. She has 73 more assists than any other active SEC player.
- She is 16 assists shy of becoming the third Tiger in program history to reach the 400-career assist mark. The last Mizzou player to do so was Kerensa Barr in 2003.
- Doty is also excelling defensively. She ranks third in career steals among active SEC players with 153 swipes. She recorded a career-high seven steals in the season-opener vs. Abilene Christian.
CASHING IN AT THE CHARITY STRIPE
- Mizzou ranks first in the Southeastern Conference in free throw percentage through three games, shooting 78.3 percent from the free throw line as a team. The Tigers have made 21-of-25 attempts over their last two games, including an 8-for-8 effort on the road at Washington.
- Sophie Cunningham has a knack for earning trips to the free throw line. A season ago, she finished second in program history among all freshmen with 113 made free throws.
- So far this season, Cunningham has shot 22 of the team's 46 free throws and is shooting 72.7-percent from the foul line.
- Cunningham has made the most of her opportunities from the foul line in her career, making 81.6 percent of her attempts, which currently ranks third in Mizzou history.
- Cunningham, sophomore Cierra Porter and senior Sierra Michaelis have combined to take 39 of Mizzou's 46 free throw attempts this season. All are shooting above 70 percent. Porter's 80-percent clip at the charity stripe is tied for 11th-best in the SEC.
SCOUTING THE SYCAMORES
- Indiana State is coming off a big road win at Cincinnati on Saturday. The Sycamores claimed a 63-55 victory, outscoring the Bearcats, 23-8, during a big fourth quarter to seal the win.
- Junior forward Wendi Bebbins is averaging a double-double with 10.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game (both are team-highs).
- Bebbins is one of seven Sycamores averaging at least six points per game.
- Indiana State is shooting 39.1 percent from the floor this season as a team, but struggles from beyond the arc. The Sycamores have made just 16-of-60 three-point attempts through three games.
