Mizzou vs. Georgia (Game Two) - Notes
With a single to left field in the bottom of the first inning, redshirt sophomore OF Taylor Gadbois (Maryville, Mo.) extended her school-best hitting streak to 29 games. Gadbois went 2-for-4 at the plate, recording her 15th multi-hit game of the season. The speedster also scored the game-tying run in the bottom of the seventh and swiped two bases. Gadbois is now 29-for-32 on stolen base attempts this year.
The Tigers struck first in the first frame when senior OF Mackenzie Sykes (Blue Springs, Mo.) hit an opposite field RBI single. Sykes added a walk-off, three-run swat in the bottom of the seventh. She has 36 RBI on the season, which is the highest mark on the team. With four RBI on Saturday, Sykes has eight multi-RBI performances in 2014 and 20 in her career.
Redshirt sophomore SS Sami Fagan (Dunnellon, Fla.) smacked an RBI single of her own in the second inning. Gadbois hurried in from second base on the play, crossing the plate for a team-best 30th time in 2014.
In the top of the seventh, Stangel retired three batters with just three pitches.
Before Sykes' big blast, junior 3B/C Angela Randazzo tied the game up with a big RBI knock to left field. The clutch single marked her 22nd RBI of the 2014 campaign.
The Tigers tallied ten total hits as a team in Saturday's win. With Sykes' home run being the exception, nine of the ten were singles.
