Natalie Bright on defeating UMKC, Southwest Missouri, Southeast Missouri and Saint Louis: "I guess we won the state championship. We set that as one of our goals this season, accomplished it and hope it carries over to some of our other goals this year."
Kerensa Barr on Evan Unrau's recent play: "We try to find her because she's been playing really well. We kind of feed off of each other."
Unrau on why a number of the Tigers switched to wearing white shoes after starting the game in black shoes (to match the black uniforms): "We just got these the other day. The first time we wore them was for shoot arounds. It's really tough to break in shoes in one day, it's pretty uncomfortable, so a number of us switched. Black and white - a great combo."
Unrau on playing on the perimeter and shooting the 3-point field goal: "You have to have that weapon (3-point shot). You get to face the basket a little bit more, get to see things and pass more. It's a lot of fun going back and forth (playing inside and outside)."
MU head coach Cindy Stein on the game: "I'm very confident in our team even though they don't feel like it at times. I felt we could persevere the whole time. It was an ugly game, a very phsyical game but at the same time I felt we were still in control of it. I don't think we ever lost control of the game. There were some times of game slippage but I felt we recovered pretty quick.
Stein on Wannette Smith's 10 points: "We're not asking her to score as much as defend and rebound. She came up with some key points when we needed them during our run in the first half."
Stein on Unrau: "I think Evan's playing well. I always think she can do more because she's such a quiet player. She scored a quiet 17 points. Even when she scored 30 the other night, it was a quiet 30. I think there was a point in the second half when she knew we needed her to step it up and she did."
