Amanda Lassiter: When asked about her thoughts on the 2001-2002 Tigers:
"I think they'll be better. They're coming together. They have a lot of new people. It's hard to lose three big players. Kerensa (Barr), Natalie (Bright), Evan (Unrau) and Wannette (Smith) all stepped up and I think they're going to do real well."

"I think we're excited about playing a regular season game. I think we learned a lot tonight about what we need to work on in the future in all facets of the game. We have several things to accomplish in this week of practice."

"This game gives us a pretty good indication of where we are. You probably saw a lot of inexperience out there and that's what we're going through. We're a team that's going to have to get better in every practice, in every game. We need to get our freshmen used to the intensity and experience."

"The Big 12 (Conference) is going to be an incredible challenge. We play Illinois and Southwest Missouri, too. There's not an easy game on our schedule and we know that. At the same time, we have to prepare ourselves. There are a lot of things we have to get in yet. We're not even close to getting everything we need to do. We still have another week before our first official game and I'm still excited. I saw a lot of positive things out there tonight."
