
Women's Basketball Travels to Seton Hall for WBIT Opening Round

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou women's basketball will travel to face Seton Hall in the opening round of the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament at 6 p.m. CST on Thursday at Prudential Center. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Tiger Radio Network.
Mizzou enters the contest with a 16-16 record following a loss to Alabama in the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
Established in 2024, this will mark Mizzou's first ever appearance in the WBIT and 24th overall postseason appearance.
Junior guard Grace Slaughter leads the Tigers and is 35th in the country and sixth in the SEC with 18.9 points this season. She was named to the Cheryl Miller Award Small Forward of the Year Mid-Season Watch List on Feb. 4.
Slaughter is 14 points away from passing Jordan Frericks (2013-18) for 12th on the program's all-time scoring list. Slaughter has also scored the eighth most points (596) in a single season in program history and is 15 points away from seventh on the list.
On the season, Mizzou is ranked 33rd in the country and fifth in the SEC in 3-point percentage at 34.9%. The Tigers are also 21st nationally and third in the SEC with 8.6 makes from beyond the arc per game.
Individually, sophomore guard Chloe Sotell is currently ranked seventh in the conference in 3-point percentage at 36.8%.
Mizzou is ranked 17th in the country and first in the SEC in free-throw percentage at 77.9%.
Junior guard Shannon Dowell (134) and Slaughter (129) are fourth and sixth, respectively, in the conference in free throws made.
The Tigers are the fifth school Kellie Harper has taken to a postseason appearance.
Seton Hall is 19-12 on the year, following a loss to Villanova in the second round of the Big East tournament.
The Pirates are coached by Anthony Bozzella, who holds a 249-164 in 13 seasons at his alma mater. In his 34-year career, Bozzella has a career record of 555-482.
Seton Hall is led by junior guard Savannah Catalon, who averages 13.3 points per game.
The contest will be the first overall meeting between the teams.
