
Women's Basketball Earns WBIT Selection, Face Seton Hall in Opening Round

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou women's basketball will travel to face Seton Hall in the opening round of the Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT) at 6 p.m. CST on Thursday, as announced by the selection committee on Sunday. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Tiger Radio Network.
The contest will mark the 24th postseason appearance for the program and the first under head coach Kellie Harper.
It will be Mizzou's first appearance since 2023 when the Tigers advanced to the second round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT).
For Harper, the selection marks her 17th postseason berth as a head coach. In addition, Mizzou will be the fifth separate Harper has taken to the postseason.
Entering the tournament, the Tigers are 16-16 following a loss to Alabama in the opening round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
Mizzou is led by junior Grace Slaughter, who was named to the All-SEC second team after averaging 18.6 points per game, which ranks sixth in the conference. In addition, Slaughter has grabbed 6.7 rebounds per game this year, three more boards than she averaged a year ago.
Junior guard Shannon Dowell and senior forward Jordana Reisma complement Slaughter on the offensive end and average 15.2 and 10.3 points per game, respectively.
Seton Hall is 19-12 on the year, following a loss to Villanova in the second round of the Big East tournament.
The Pirates are coached by Anthony Bozzella who holds a 249-164 in 13 seasons at his alma mater. In his 34-year career, Bozzella is has a career record of 555-482.
Seton Hall is led by junior guard Savannah Catalon who averages 13.3 points per game.
Established in 2024, it is the first appearance in the WBIT for the Tigers.
