COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri wrestling totaled 11 honorees on the 2025 Winter Academic All-Big 12 team, announced the league office.
This marks the second consecutive year with 11 Tigers securing the accolade and ties the third-highest total in program history: 2023 (14), 2022 (13) and 2024 (11). Additionally, Mizzou's 11 honorees are the third most by a wrestling program in the conference, behind Northern Iowa (18), Arizona State (12) and South Dakota State (12).
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 grade point average (GPA) or higher, cumulatively or for the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except the percent of participation are also eligible.
Noah Surtin and Keegan O'Toole close their Missouri careers as four-time honorees, while Logan Gioffre and Jesse Cassatt make the team for the third time. J Conway collects the accolade for the second consecutive season, and Seth Nitzel collects his second nod, having been named to the second team in 2023.
Earning a spot on the Academic All-Big 12 team for the first time in their careers are Josh Edmond, Eric Lovelace, Joel Mylin, Cam Steed and Jarrett Stoner.
