Wrestling's O'Toole and Steed Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Two University of Missouri wrestlers earned Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday, June 17. Senior Keegan O'Toole receives the honor for the third time in his career, while redshirt sophomore Cam Steed secures his first.

The 2025 Academic All-District® At-Large Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

O'Toole closed out his legendary Tiger Style career as the 2025 Big 12 Champion and NCAA All-American (2nd -174). The Hartland, Wisconsin, native was 20-1 through the season, with 11 of his 20 opponents being ranked (including three ranked in the top five) and 8-0 in regular-season duals. Additionally, he marked his 100th career win by fall against Iowa State's Caden Schmidt (Feb. 22) after sitting out for two months due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). After going 4-1 at the NCAA Tournament, O'Toole totaled 16 bonus-point wins, earning a bonus rate of .762 this year, and brought his career record to 108-5 all-time to pass his former coach and mentor Ben Askren for second in program history with a .955-win percentage. For his efforts, the senior earned Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Big 12 Championship, as well as Academic All-Big 12 and NWCA Scholar All-America.

In his first season in the starting lineup for the Tigers, Steed went 19-7 and 5-4 in duals, finishing as the Big 12 runner-up at 165 pounds and an NCAA All-American after placing seventh at the national tournament. Moreover, the Collinsville, Oklahoma, native earned the NWCA Gorriaran Award for most falls in the NCAA Championships in the shortest amount of time. Steed secured three falls in seven minutes to receive the award and make Mizzou the first program to earn back-to-back Gorriarans (O'Toole – 2024) since Penn State, 2011-13. Additionally, the redshirt sophomore led the team with seven falls this season, earning the program's Ben Askren Most Falls Award and Most Improved Wrestler. Steed totaled eight ranked wins throughout the season and concluded the year with a .500 bonus rate with three major decisions, three technical falls and seven pins.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees being announced July 16.
