
No. 22 Softball Goes 1-1 Friday at Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – No. 22 ranked University of Missouri softball split its second day at the 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic Friday at the Big League Dreams Complex.
Missouri earned an 8-3 victory over Baylor before falling to Minnesota 3-1 in the afternoon tilt. Both games were played on Yankee Stadium at the BLD Complex.
Mizzou is now 8-7 in 2025 and is 2-2 this week at the 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
No. 22 Missouri 8, Baylor 3
Missouri opened its Friday with an 8-3 victory over Baylor (7-6) that featured three home runs and a complete game by junior pitcher Cierra Harrison.
Sophomore Stefania Abruscato notched a career-best matching three hits (3-for-4) and three RBI. It marked her first three hit, three RBI game of the season and second of her collegiate career.
Harrison was firing in the circle for the Tigers, throwing a complete game (her second of the season) with a season-best seven strikeouts. She let up just three earned runs on four hits. Harrison also surpassed 200 career innings pitched and registered her 25th career victory Friday.
Senior Julia Crenshaw hit a leadoff homer to get the game underway. It marked her second leadoff home run of the season, as she previously posted the feat against Florida State on Feb. 13.
Abruscato added her second long ball of the season, a two-run shot to center that extended the Tigers' advantage to 3-0.
Baylor would cut the margin to 3-2 on a two-run double in the bottom of the first.
Sophomore Madison Walker then connected on her fifth home run of the season (career best, had one in 2024) in the third inning to extend the Missouri lead to 4-2.
After a Baylor home run in the third, a bases loaded walk helped Missouri regain a two-run lead (5-3) in the sixth.
Three consecutive doubles in the seventh by Walker, Kara Daly and Abruscato then grew the Missouri lead to 7-3.
Oklahoma State transfer Haidyn Sokoloski secured her first hit in a Missouri uniform during the top half of the second inning. She also recorded her first RBI as a Tiger in the seventh, giving Missouri an 8-3 advantage.
Walker secured her second multi-extra base hit game of her collegiate career finishing 2-for-4 with a double and a home run.
Missouri hit three home runs in a game for the second time in 2025.
Minnesota 3, No. 22 Missouri 1
Missouri then fell in its second game of the day to Minnesota (3-7), 3-1.
The Golden Gophers utilized a three-run homer from Taylor Krapf in the third to secure the win.
Mizzou cut the lead to 3-1 on an RBI fielder's choice from Madison Walker in the fifth.
Sokoloski paced MU with a career-best 3-for-3 with a double and a stolen base. She notched five hits (5-for-7) over Friday's pair of games. The Flower Mound, Texas, native, has reached base safely in four-straight games.
Crenshaw added two hits (2-for-4) and has hit safely in all four Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic games this week.
Madison Uptegrove finished with one hit and has three hits over the last four games.
Marissa McCann (3-2) went the distance in the circle Saturday, recording her third complete game of the season. She allowed three earned runs on four hits with a career-best seven strikeouts in the loss.
Saniya Hill has reached base safely in each of the last six games.
