
No. 22 Softball Drops Mary Nutter Finale to No. 19 Oregon

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – No. 22 ranked University of Missouri softball fell to No. 19 Oregon (15-1), 11-3, to conclude the 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic Saturday on Yankee Stadium at the Big League Dreams Complex.
With the loss, Missouri moves to 8-8 in 2025 after a 2-3 week at the Classic.
The Tigers are the only NCAA Division I institution that competed in the NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic, Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational Presented by EvoShield and Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic to start the campaign.
The Ducks utilized four home runs over the first three innings to jump out to a 5-0 lead.
Oregon then added a pair of RBI singles to extend the margin to 8-0 through the top of the third.
Kara Daly blasted her third homer of the season to get the Tigers on the scoreboard. The senior from Jefferson City, Missouri, launched a three-run blast to trim the lead to 8-3 in the third.
Daly finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a season-best three RBI. She has drawn a walk in four of the last five games and is on a three-game reached base streak.
The Ducks then regrew their advantage to 11-3 with a three-run homer in the seventh. Oregon notched five total home runs Saturday including a pair by Rylee McCoy.
Claire Cahalan (1-for-4, run), Madison Walker (1-for-1), Saniya Hill (1-for-3) and Sophie Smith (1-for-1) each had a hit for Missouri Saturday.
Hill has reached base safely in seven-straight games.
Starter Cierra Harrison (3-3) was assessed the loss, allowing four earned runs on four hits with a pair of strikeouts over 2.2 innings.
Marissa McCann and Taylor Pannell both saw relief action Saturday. McCann pitched the middle 3.1 innings, allowing four earned runs on two hits with a pair of strikeouts. Pannell pitched the final inning, surrendering an earned run on one hit with a punchout.
Julia Crenshaw notched a walk Saturday and reached base safely in all five Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic games this week.
Haidyn Sokoloski has reached base safely in five-straight games.
