
No. 17 Gymnastics Records New Program-High Championships Score

DULUTH, Ga. — The No. 17 University of Missouri gymnastics team recorded its highest-ever conference championship score with 197.000 to place sixth at the 2023 Southeastern Conference Championships on Saturday at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Ga. The 197 bettered the 196.825 recorded at the 2022 SEC Championships.
Florida won the team title with a score of 198.425. Alabama took second with 197.925, ahead of LSU in third with 197.800 and Kentucky in fourth with 197.675. Auburn took home fifth place with 197.100, Mizzou sixth with 197.000, Arkansas seventh with 196.825 and Georgia eighth with 196.600.
Beam
The Tigers opened up the meet with a 49.375 team score on beam Senior Helen Hu led Mizzou with a 9.950 score. Hu finished first in the morning session and was the overall runner-up on beam.
Freshman Addison Lawrence (9.85), junior Sydney Schaffer (9.800), graduate student Alisa Sheremeta (9.875), sophomore Grace Anne Davis (9.000) and senior Sienna Schreiber (9.900) also competed on beam.
Floor
Leading off the second rotation for the Tigers, Moore and Sheremeta both scored a 9.900. They had the highest floor score in the morning session, and the fourth-highest score overall.
Sophomore Amari Celestine (9.875), graduate student Hannah McCrary (9.850), sophomore Alonna Kratzer (9.80) and Schreiber (9.775) also competed in the rotation. The Tigers totaled a 49.325 for the rotation.
Vault
Moore led the vault rotation, posting a near-perfect 9.95 to help propel the Tigers to 48.900 collectively in the event. Moore earned the highest score in the morning session and had the overall highest score, earning her share of the SEC vault title.
Celestine (9.00), McCrary (9.850) Burns (9.650), Davis (9.550) and Schreiber (9.525) also scored for the Tigers.
Bars
The Tigers ended the meet with a 49.400 team score on bars. Senior Helen Hu led Mizzou with a 9.950 score. Hu finished first in the morning session and was the overall runner-up on bars.
Celestine (9.850), Schreiber (9.875), Sheremeta (9.85), Moore (9.875) and Burns (9.850) also competed on bars.
