Mizzou broke out of their offensive slump from the day before and put a six spot on the board. The home Tigers put the first run in the box score with Imani Myint coming home on a groundout to second. Auburn countered the Mizzou score by putting four runs on the board in the top of the third.
Mizzou's offense fully woke up in the bottom half of the third with a single to left by Jenna Laird and with Hatti Moore reaching on a fielder's choice. Kimberly Wert would then launch a homer over the left field wall to bring everyone home to knot the game up at four.
Auburn would take the lead once again in top of the fourth by adding another run to the board for their last score of the day. Jenna Laird drove in two runs with an RBI single to center in the fourth that gave Mizzou the one run lead that they didn't look back from. Megan Schumacher had a very solid relief outing for Mizzou in the circle this afternoon, keeping Auburn out of the run column for the final three innings of the game to secure the victory for Mizzou. The righty only gave up three hits and grabbed two strikeouts on the day.
