Mizzou Gymnastics Returns to Action Friday Against No. 19 Auburn

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou gymnastics team returns to competition on Friday, Feb. 12 when the team hosts No. 19 Auburn at 8 p.m. CT at the Hearnes Center in the annual Pink Out meet. The meet will be televised live on SEC Network with Courtney Lyle and Bridget Sloan calling the action.
- Last time out, Mizzou fell to No. 1 Florida, 197.850-194.800, on Jan. 29.
- The Tigers opened the meet against the Gators with a season-high 49.050 on bars, thanks to a season-best 9.9 by sophomore Sienna Schreiber.
- Against Kentucky on Jan. 22, the Tigers closed the meet with a 49.250 on floor, the team's highest score on any event this season, thanks to six scores of 9.8 or higher.
- Sophomore Sienna Schreiber claimed the bars and beam titles against the Wildcats. She now has three event titles on the season and five total in her Missouri career.
- On. Jan. 15 the Tigers fell to No. 4 Alabama by the closest of margins, 195.775-195.750.
- The Tigers finished the night with a 49.075 on floor but ended up 0.025 short of tying the Tide.
- Junior Hannah McCrary concluded Mizzou's night against the Crimson Tide with a career-high-tying 9.925 on floor, which was good enough to earn her the event title, the fourth of her Tiger career.
- Schreiber took home the beam title in the meet against the GymDogs after a career-high 9.9 on the apparatus.
- Missouri sat ranked No. 14 nationally in March 2020 when the season was abruptly cut short prior to the final regular season meet. The Tigers also ended the 2020 season ranked 10th nationally on vault (49.225), 14th on beam (49.200), 18th on floor (49.290) and 24th on bars (49.110).
- Mizzou will have 63 percent of routines from a year ago available for the 2021 season.
- Overall, Mizzou returns 68 percent of its floor lineup, 65 percent of its vault and beam lineup and 55 percent of its bars lineup.
- Head Coach Shannon Welker is in his eighth season at the helm of the Tigers. Last season, Mizzou defeated No. 11 Minnesota and No. 19 Nebraska and twice posted team scores among the top 10 in program history.

- The Mizzou gymnastics team fell to No. 1 Florida, 197.850-194.800 on Jan. 29 in Gainesville, Fla.
- The Tigers started strong with a season-high 49.050 on bars in the opening rotation. Sophomore Sienna Schreiber paced the squad with a 9.9, the highest score on the event for a Tiger this season. Freshman Amaya Marshall hit her routine for a career-best 9.85, while sophomore Hollyn Patrick and freshman Jena Swanson both went for 9.775s. Junior Alisa Sheremeta added a 9.75.
- A team-best 9.825 from Swanson on vault propelled the team to a 48.900 in the second rotation. Marshall also had a strong performance with a 9.8, and Schreiber and senior Gabrielle Gottula each had scores of 9.775. Vaulting for the first time in her career, Patrick recorded a 9.725.
- Marshall and Swanson scored identical 9.85s to lead the Tigers on floor in the third rotation. The score tied Swanson's personal-best, and marked Marshall's fourth-straight 9.8 or better score on the event to start her collegiate career. Schreiber and Sheremeta both had 9.8s, and Gottula added a 9.75. Overall, Mizzou went 49.050 as a team.
- Gottula opened Mizzou's beam rotation with a 9.875, a season-high for the senior. Sheremeta earned a 9.825 and junior Hannah McCrary went for a 9.75.

- Mizzou travels to Fayetteville, Ark., to take on No. 5 Arkansas on Friday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. CT.
MISSOURI RANKED 28TH IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
- Mizzou clocks in at 28th in this week's national rankings, with an average score of 195.038.
- The Tigers also rank 19th on floor, 23rd on bars, 40th on vault and 41st on beam.
MIZZOU GOES BIG ON FLOOR AGAINST KENTUCKY
- The Tigers closed the meet against Kentucky with a 49.250 on floor in the final rotation.
- The score marked the highest event total for the squad so far in 2021.
- All six Tigers scored at least a 9.8 in the floor rotation, including a 9.9 from junior Hannah McCrary and and 9.875 from junior Alisa Sheremeta.
- Before the 49.250, Mizzou's highest event score of the season was a 49.075, set on floor against Alabama on Jan. 15.
SCHREIBER NABS TWO TITLES AGAINST THE WILDCATS
- Sophomore Sienna Schreiber claimed both the bars and beam titles in Mizzou's meet against Kentucky on Jan. 22.
- She tallied scores of 9.875 on beam and 9.825 on bars to take top honors.
- The two wins here the second and third event titles of Schreiber's sophomore season, and the fourth and fifth of her Tiger career.
- Schreiber also won the beam crown at Georgia in the season opener.
MCCRARY CLAIMS FLOOR TITLE IN MEET VS. ALABAMA
- Junior Hannah McCrary anchored Mizzou's floor lineup with a 9.925 against Alabama on Jan. 15 to take the floor crown.
- The 9.925 tied her career-high, which she set at the Crimson Tide in 2020.
- It was the fourth event title of her career, and second on floor, as she also won the event in Mizzou's squad meet against Minnesota, Ohio State and Lindenwood a year ago.
