- The No. 16 Mizzou gymnastics team opens the 2021 campaign on Friday, Jan. 8 as the team travels to Athens, Ga., to face No. 10 Georgia at 6 p.m. CT at Stegeman Coliseum. The meet will be broadcast on SEC Network with Courtney Lyle and Bridget Sloan on the call.
- Following the season opener, Mizzou will open the home portion of its schedule on Friday, Jan. 15 when the team hosts No. 6 Alabama at 7 p.m. CT. The meet will be broadcast live on SEC Network +.
- Mizzou enters the season ranked 16th in the Women's College Gymnastics Association (WCGA) preseason poll. It matches last year's ranking as the highest preseason ranking since 2011, and marks the fifth-consecutive season Mizzou was selected in the top 20.
- The 2021 SEC gymnastics season will be comprised of eight meets per school over a 10- week conference-only schedule, with the regular season concluding with the SEC Gymnastics Championships on March 20 in New Orleans, La.

- Mizzou knocked off a pair of top 20 teams during the 2020 campaign, No. 11 Minnesota at home and No. 19 Nebraska on the road.
- Head Coach Shannon Welker is in his eighth season at the helm of the Tigers. Last seas on, Mizzou defeated No. 11 Minnesota and No. 19 Nebraska and twice posted team scores among the top 10 in program history.

- The Mizzou gymnastics team gave fans a preview of the 2021 season with its annual Black & Gold Practice on Dec. 4 at the Hearnes Center.
- The Tigers started the evening on vault, as three Tigers earned scores of 9.8 or better. Junior Hannah Mccrary and freshman Jena Swanson both tallied 9.85s, while sophomore Sienna Schreiber scored a 9.8.
- On bars in the second rotation, junior Alisa Sheremeta paced the squad with a 9.85 in the anchor position. Senior Chelsey Christensen and freshman Amaya Marshall claimed identical scores of 9.8, and Swanson went a 9.75. Sophomore Hollyn Patrick added a 9.7.
- Schreiber closed the beam rotation with a near-perfect routine to earn a 9.95 on the event. Three other Tigers hit the 9.8 mark, with Sheremeta claiming a 9.85 and McCrary and senior Gabrielle Gottula posting 9.Bs. Marshall also hit her routine for a 9.75 and Christensen and freshman Sydney Schaffer both had 9.7s.
- In the final rotation, Sheremeta again led the way with a team-best 9.9 on floor. Both McCrary and Schreiber closed their nights with 9.Bs, Gottula earned a 9.75 and Marshall added a 9.7.

TIGERS TO COMPETE IN SEC-ONLY SCHEDULE
- The Tigers, in conjunction with the Southeastern Conference, announced the 2021 schedule on Nov. 23
- The 2021 SEC gymnastics seas on will be comprised of eight meets per school over a 10-week conference-only schedule, with the regular-season concluding with the SEC Gymnastics Championships on March 20 in New Orleans.
- The decision to limit competition to conference-only opponents was based on the need for maximum flexibility in making any necessary scheduling adjustments while reacting to developments around the COVID-19 pandemic and continued advice from medical professionals.
- The schedule include s two open dates for all schools in Week five and Week 10 to allow for rescheduling of postponed events.
MIZZOU SET FOR SIX NATIONALLY TELEVISED MEETS IN 2021
- Mizzou will have six nationally televised meets in 2021
- The TV lineup features five regular season meets and the 2021 SEC Championship.
- Mizzou and Georgia kickoff the SEC Network's 2021 Friday Night Heigh s schedule on Friday, Jan. 8 with a 6 p.m. CT meet in Athens, Ga.
- The Tigers then return to SEC Network for consecutive meets in late January, as the home meet against Kentucky (Jan 22) and an away contest at Florida (Jan. 29) will both be aired live on the network at 6 p.m. CT.
- The Feb. 12 and Feb. 19 meets against Auburn and Arkansas will also air live on SEC Network. Mizzou takes on Auburn at 8 p.m. CT on the 12th at the Hearnes Center and travels to Fayetteville , Ark., to take on Arkansas on Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. CT.
- Mizzou's three regular seas on meets not picked up for TV, Jan. 15 against Alabama, Feb. 26 against Georgia and March 5 at LSU, will all broadcast live on SEC Network+.
- For the sixth consecutive year, the SEC Gymnastics Championship will be telecast live, with the 2021 edition airing exclusively on SEC Network. Coverage of the afternoon session starts at 2:30 p.m. CT with the evening session beginning at 7 p.m. CT.
2020 SEASON AT A GLANCE
- The Tigers concluded the shortened 2020 season ranked 14th in the nation as it steadily climbed the ranking s as year progressed.
- The Tigers' National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 196.635 at the time the season ended was the third-best such score in program history and the team's highest since 2004.
- Over the course of the season, Mizzou defeated No. 11 Minnesota and No. 19 Nebraska and twice posted team scores among the top 10 in program history.
- Two Tigers -- Helen Hu and Sienna Schreiber -- earned All-SEC honors, as Hu claimed SEC Event Specialist of the Year honors and spots on the All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman teams, and Schreiber made the All-Freshman team.
- Hu also claimed two WCGA All-America honors, with first team accolades on beam and second team honors on bars.
- On Feb. 14 Mizzou tied it's all-time bars team score with a 49.400 at the Mardi Gras Invite, which matched the program record from the Texas Woman's Invite on March 12, 2004.
- Floor was a particular strength in 2020, especially the last six meets of the year, when Tigers averaged 49.288 over that span.
- A 196.850 at Alabama on Feb. 7 stood as the second-best road score in program history, trailing just the 197.475 set at the Texas Woman's Invite on March 12, 2004.
