COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 16 Mizzou gymnastics team travels to Lincoln, Neb., this weekend to face No. 19 Nebraska on Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. CT. The meet will be broadcast live on BTN+.
TIGER TIDBITS
- Mizzou moved up four spots to No. 16 in the RoadtoNationals.com national rankings with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 196.465.
- The Tigers also rank 14th nationally on vault (49.160) and beam (49.170), 16th on floor (49.270) and 20th on bars (49.105).
- Additionally, freshman Helen Hu is ranked fifth nationally on beam (9.945) and 12th on bars (9.905) and redshirt senior Morgan Porter is tied for 15th in the all-around (39.355).
- Last time out, Missouri scored 196.775 to place first in a four-team meet against No. 11 Minnesota (196.675), Lindenwood (194.700) and Ohio State (194.675).
- Leading Minnesota 147.425-147.400 going into the final rotation, Mizzou notched a 49.350 on floor to hold off the Golden Gophers.
- Hu won the all-around (39.475), beam (9.975) and bars (9.875) titles in the quad meet to earn SEC Freshman of the Week honors for the third time this season. It also marked her fifth overall weekly honor, as she won SEC Specialist of the Week accolades on Jan. 21 and Jan. 28.
- Hu has eight scores of 9.9 or better on beam this season, which is one shy of tying the Tigers' individual single-season record for most 9.9 scores on one event. Three former Tigers currently hold that record: Sarah Shire on vault in 2010, Alisha Robinson on vault in 2004 and Lauren Schwartzman on beam in 2004.
- The Tigers tied the program's bars record with a 49.400 at the Mardi Gras Invite on Feb. 14. Mizzou previously tallied the same score at the Texas Woman's Invite on March 12, 2004.
- Against Alabama on Feb. 7, the Tigers tallied event scores of 49.350 on floor, 49.300 on beam, 49.250 on vault and 48.950 on bars.
- It was the first time in program history Mizzou scored at least 49.250 on vault, beam and floor in the same meet.
- Mizzou returns seven gymnasts from last year's team and welcomes eight newcomers to the roster.
- Head Coach Shannon Welker is in his seventh season at the helm of the Tigers. Last season, Mizzou knocked off four top 25 teams, including a win over No. 10 Kentucky and a tie with No. 7 Michigan. The Tigers also recorded the second-highest beam score in program history (49.425), the sixth (49.425) and seventh (49.400) best floor scores and the ninth-best vault total (49.275) over the course of the campaign.
LAST TIME OUT
- Redshirt senior Morgan Porter clinched the meet win with the final routine of the night as the No. 20 Mizzou gymnastics team scored a 196.775 to place first in a four-team meet on Feb. 28. Missouri defeated No. 11 Minnesota (196.675), Lindenwood (194.700) and Ohio State (194.675) in the home finale.
- Freshman Helen Hu won the all-around, beam and tied for the bars crowns to up her season win total to a team-high 12 titles. We tied her career-bests in the all-around (39.475) and on beam (9.975) and went 9.875 on bars en route to her wins.
- Additionally, sophomore Hannah McCrary claimed the floor crown with a career-high 9.925 for her second event title of the season.
- With Mizzou holding a slim 147.425-147.400 lead over Minnesota heading into the final rotation, the Tigers responded with a 49.350 on floor to clinch the victory. Porter needed at least a 9.775 for Mizzou to secure the win, and she closed the night with a 9.85 in the anchor position. McCrary preceded Porter in the lineup and secured a career-best 9.925 for the event title, which was the third of her Tiger career but first on floor. She previous high was a 9.9 set at Alabama on Feb. 7. In addition to Porter and McCrary, junior Gabrielle Gottula) and sophomore Alisa Sheremeta both earned 9.875s, and Hu added a 9.825.
- The Tigers opened the meet with a 49.200 on vault for the second week in a row. Gottula erupted for a career-best 9.9 in the second spot, and freshman Sienna Schreiber opened the night with a 9.875. Porter added a 9.85 and Hu went 9.8.
- Hu's 9.875 paced Mizzou on bars in the second rotation, where the team compiled a score of 49.100. Schreiber led off the event with a 9.85, Porter earned a 9.825 and Sheremeta went 9.8. Freshman Hollyn Patrick made her Tiger debut on the event, earning a 9.75.
- For the second week in a row, Hu anchored the beam lineup with a 9.975. The career-tying tally made her only the second Tiger in program history with at least two scores of 9.975 or higher, joining Lauren Schwartzman (2003-06), who did it three times. Overall, Mizzou went 49.150 as a team on the apparatus, as Schreiber and McCrary both added 9.825s and Porter tallied a 9.775.

MISSOURI RANKED 16TH IN NATIONAL POLL
- Mizzou moved up four spots to No. 16 in this week's national rankings with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 196.465.
- The NQS is is calculated by taking a team's top six scores, three of which must be from road or neutral meets. The highest score is dropped and the remaining five are averaged.
- The Tiger also rank 14th on vault (49.160) and beam (49.170), 16th on floor (49.270) and 20th on bars (49.105).

HU NAMED SEC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK...AGAIN
- For the fifth time this season, freshman Helen Hu earned weekly honors for the Southeastern Conference, as she was named the SEC Freshman of the Week on March 3.
- Hu previously claimed Freshman of the Week honors on Jan. 7 and Feb. 25 and Specialist of the Week accolades on Jan. 21 and Jan. 28.
- She took home the all-around, beam and bars titles in Mizzou's quad meet on Feb. 28 to up her team-leading total to 12 on the season, with six on beam, four on bars and two in the all-around.
- Hu tied career-bests in both the all-around (39.475) and on beam (9.975) to go along with scores of 9.875 on bars and 9.8 on vault in the meet. The 9.975 marked the second week in a row she tallied that score, which stands tied for the third-best beam individual total in the record books.

MIZZOU TIES BARS RECORD AT MARDI GRAS INVITE

FLOOR A STRENGTH
- Floor has become a strength over the last five meets for Mizzou.
- During that stretch, the Tigers are averaging 49.320 on the event
- Mizzou's floor average was 48.994 the first four meets of the season.
- Three Tigers average at least a 9.836 so far this year. Senior Morgan Porter leads with a 9.886, sophomore Hannah McCrary has a 9.844 and freshman Sienna Schreiber averages a 9.836.
FRESHMEN MAKING THEIR IMPACT
- Nine meets into the 2020 season, Mizzou's freshmen class has made an impact
- So far, freshmen have made up 36.6 percent of the team's routines, with 79 of the 216 total from the class.
- Overall, the 79 routines by the freshmen led the team, followed by 51 from the sophomore class, 49 from the senior class and 37 from the junior class.
MCCRARY WINS SECOND EVENT TITLE OF THE SEASON
- Sophomore Hannah McCrary claimed her second event title of the season in Mizzou's quad meet on Feb. 28.
- McCrary recorded a career-high 9.925 on floor to win her first career floor crown.
- Earlier this season, she went 9.925 on vault to win that event title.
- The floor crown marked McCrary's third overall title of her career, as she also took home a vault title as a freshman in 2019.
TIGERS TAKE DOWN NO. 11 MINNESOTA
- Mizzou used a strong final rotation to secure a 196.775-196.675 win over No. 11 Minnesota on Feb. 28.
- The two teams were nearly tied, 147.425-147.000, heading into the final rotation, but the Tigers outscored the Golden Gophers, 49.350-49.275 on the final event to pull out the victory.
- The win marked the Tigers' highest-ranked win since the team defeated then-No. 10 Kentucky, 196.250-196.000, on March 1, 2019.
MIZZOU POSTS SECOND-BEST ROAD SCORE IN PROGRAM HISTORY
- Mizzou's 196.850 at Alabama was the second-best road score in program history.
- The 196.850 trails just the 197.475 at the Texas Woman's Invite on March 12, 2004
- The 196.850 edged out a 196.750 Missouri posted at Florida on Feb. 24, 2017.
- Additionally, Missouri's 49.300 on beam at Alabama was the eighth-best beam total in school history.
PORTER ENJOYING STELLAR SENIOR SEASON
- Redshirt senior Morgan Porter is competing some of her most consistent gymnastics of her colelge career.
- Porter currently ranks tied 15th nationally in the all-around.
- Over her last five meets, Porter is averaging 39.400 in the all-around.
- Overall, she has season-best scores of 9.925 on floor, 9.9 on vault, 9.875 on bars and beam and 39.450 in the all-around.
