COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball takes a break from Southeastern Conference play this week, but will remain in action with a midweek doubleheader Wednesday (April 25) at Western Illinois. Game one between the Tigers and Leathernecks inside Mary Ellen McKee Stadium is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT. Game two is tentatively scheduled for 5 p.m. CT.

Mizzou and Western Illinois Series Snapshot
- Mizzou leads the all-time series over Western Illinois, 36-4.
- In the teams' last meeting, the Tigers claimed a doubleheader sweep over the Leathernecks in Columbia, Missouri, a season ago (April 11, 2017).
- Mizzou and Western Illinois haven't squared off in Macomb, Illinois, in three years (April 15, 2015), with the Tigers tallying another doubleheader triumph.
- The Tigers and Leathernecks have met for a doubleheader in each of the past five years (2013-17).
Tigers' Bats Perform Well at No. 12 South Carolina
- Despite the series loss at South Carolina this past weekend, the Tiger offense continued to accumulate impressive numbers. Five individuals produced a .300-plus average at the plate, highlighted by Kolby Romaine's sensational .556 (5-for-9) clip. The Chino Hills, California, native tallied back to back multi-hit efforts in the opening two contests, upping her multi-hit game season total to nine.
- Callie Martin (.375), Trenity Edwards (.333), Amanda Sanchez (.333) and Rylee Pierce (.300) also had strong three-game series' against the Gamecocks. Sanchez, Pierce and Edwards all visited #BombCity in Columbia, South Carolina, adding to their season totals (10, seven and five, respectively).
- Despite a young lineup, Mizzou has consistently been one of the SEC's top offenses this season. Entering this week's action, the Tigers rank top 5 in conference doubles (second), home runs (tied for second), hits (fourth) and total bases (fourth).
- In SEC only play, the Tigers' team offensive ranks stand out even more. Entering this week, Mizzou sits top 5 in team hits (first), doubles (first), total bases (first), stolen bases (tied for second), walks (fourth), home runs (tied for fourth), RBI (tied for fourth), average (fifth) and runs scored (fifth).
- Individually in SEC only action, Romaine's fantastic .392 average ranks third amongst conference hitters. The Tiger right fielder also ranks tied for fifth in hits (20) and ninth in OBP (.466).
