@MizzouSoftball Returns to Mid-Missouri, Hosts No. 13 LSU for Weekend SEC Series

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball continues its home Southeastern Conference schedule this weekend with No. 13 LSU visiting Mizzou Softball Stadium. The two teams are set for a non-traditional three-game series, as they'll compete in a doubleheader Friday and a single-game contest Saturday.
Game one Friday afternoon is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT and the nightcap is set for 6 p.m. CT. Saturday's series finale is slated for a 2 p.m. CT first pitch.
Fans can watch the action live all weekend on SEC Network + via WatchESPN. Ben Arnet and former Mizzou Softball captain Ashley Moore will have the call for Friday's doubleheader while Nate Gatter and former Mizzou Baseball head coach Tim Jamieson will serve as the announcing duo Saturday afternoon.
KTGR radio will also broadcast game one of Friday's doubleheader live via KTGR.com, 100.5 FM, 105.1 FM and 1580 AM. Jeff Parles and Chad Moller will be on the call across the local airwaves.
Adult general admission and bleacher tickets are available for $8 while youth/senior tickets are $5 each. Reserved chair back seats behind home plate can be purchased for $10. Single-game tickets are available the day of at the Mizzou Softball ticket booth, by calling the Mizzou Athletics ticket office at 1-800-CAT-PAWS or by visiting MUTigers.com/Tickets.

Series History vs. LSU
- Mizzou trails in the all-time series over LSU, 12-7.
- In their last SEC series meeting, LSU was victorious in two of three games over Mizzou in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (April 28-29, 2017).
- In the teams' last series in Columbia, Missouri (April 25-27, 2015), Mizzou claimed wins in two of three games.
Mizzou and LSU's Closely Contested Meetings a Season Ago
- The two programs met four times a season ago with three contests in Baton Rouge and one matchup in the SEC Tournament in Knoxville, Tennessee.
- Mizzou only claimed one victory in its four games against LSU in 2017, but all four games played were decided by two runs or less.
- Two of LSU's three victories were by only one run (3-2 in series opener in Baton Rouge --- April 28 // 6-5 in first round of SEC Tournament --- May 10).
- Mizzou scored first in all three matchups at Baton Rouge, as the host Tigers mounted a late comeback in both of their victories. In the programs' meeting at the SEC Tournament, LSU held a 6-2 lead in the seventh inning and Mizzou's late push fell just short after recording three runs in its final at bat.
