
Abby Carr Named to Softball America’s Freshman All-American List

Freshman Abby Carr led the Tigers in ERA (2.92), saves (five), home runs (12) and RBIs (44) during the 2026 season.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Freshman Abby Carr (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette HS) earned Softball America Freshman All-American status at the utility/pitcher position, the publication announced on Tuesday, May 19.
This is the freshman's second postseason award as she was named to the NFCA All-Region Midwest Second Team under the same distinction.
Carr earned a spot on the list under the utility/pitcher category, as she led the Tigers in ERA (2.92), saves (five), home runs (12) and RBIs (44). She finished her first-year campaign with a .293 batting average, a team-leading .573 slugging percentage and was first on the team for extra-base hits with 22 – 10 doubles and 12 home runs.
On the mound, Carr ended the regular season ranked first in the SEC and sixth in the NCAA with five saves – four of which came in SEC play. She also recorded a team-leading .236 batting average against and struck out 69 batters in 74.1 innings pitched.
Her success on both sides of the plate was recognized on the national level, as she was named Softball America's Freshman Star of the Week on March 24. That week, she earned her first career save and did not allow an earned run in 4.2 innings with five strikeouts, while posting a .300 average, three home runs, and four RBIs in five games (three against Alabama and two against Illinois). The following week, she earned SEC Freshman of the Week recognition (March 31), as she recorded a .500 batting average with one home run and four RBIs alongside two saves against Auburn.
