On Friday's series opener…
"We were knocking on the door all night, but just couldn't break through when we needed to. I was real pleased to see Lauren (Rice) bounce back from Wednesday against Illinois and turn-in a solid performance in the circle tonight. I thought she pitched well and she gave us a chance to win throughout the whole night. A couple physical and mental errors also played a big factor tonight. We just need to fine-tune some things and put together a complete game and I think we can come out on top Saturday and Sunday."
#MIZ Takeaways
- Romaine produced her sixth multi-hit game of the season, ranking fifth-most on the team.
- Burnside's double in the third inning marked her fourth of the year and extended her current team-leading hitting streak to four games.
- Amanda Sanchez was hit by a pitch twice tonight, extending her safely reached base streak to 26 consecutive games. The impressive streak stands alone in sixth place in Mizzou Softball history.
