COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 23 Missouri gymnastics team hits the road this weekend as the Tigers travel to Athens, Georgia, to face No. 14 Georgia on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. CT. The meet will be broadcast live on SEC Network with Courtney Lyle and Bridget Sloan on the call.

- Mizzou sits at No. 23 in this week's rankings
- Missouri suffered a 195.850-194.525 loss to then-No. 2 Alabama on Jan. 26
- Against the Crimson Tide, sophomore Aspen Tucker tied her career-high on floor with a 9.900, a week after she went 9.875 on the same event
- The Tigers posted a 196.325-196.150 win over No. 10 Arkansas in Missouri's home opener on Jan. 19
- The win was Mizzou's first over a top 10 team since a 195.800-195.350 win over No. 9 Georgia on Jan. 22, 2016, and the third-consecutive victory over Arkansas

- In fact, Mizzou returns 100 percent of all bars and beam routines from a season ago, and 92.3 percent of all floor routines back and 85.7 percent of all vault routines back
- Mizzou's 2018 slate is ranked the fifth-toughest in the country entering the season, behind only SEC foes Georgia, Arkansas and Alabama
- Head Coach Shannon Welker enters his fifth season at the helm of the Tiger program. In his first four years in Columbia, Welker has Mizzou back in the national spotlight. In 2017, the Tigers finished 17th in the national ranking. The 2017 season also saw Mizzou go 3-4 in Southeastern Conference dual meet action, with wins over No. 12 Arkansas, No. 12 Kentucky and No. 18 Auburn. The Tigers entered the season with just one SEC dual win in program history. Additionally, Missouri recorded the third and fourth-highest scores in program history in 2017, with a 197.200 against Auburn and a 197.150 one week later against Kentucky.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Mizzou gymnastics team suffered a 195.850-194.525 loss at No. 7 Alabama on Jan. 26
- Senior Shauna Miller and junior Madeleine Huber each scored team-best 9.800s on bars in the first rotation as the Tigers went 48.775 as a team.
- In the second rotation, Huber scored a 9.825 to pace Mizzou and tie for second on the event. Sophomore Aspen Tucker added a 9.800, while senior Kennedi Harris went 9.775 as the Tigers totaled 48.900 on the event.
- Tucker highlighted Mizzou's floor rotation as she tied her personal-best with a 9.900 to tie for second on the event. Additionally, Harris and sophomore Mary Nicholson each scored 9.825s.
- Junior Britney Ward closed the Tigers' night with a 9.875 on the balance beam, a score that tied her for second overall on the event.
UP NEXT
- The Tigers return home to host No. 2 LSU on Friday, Feb. 9 at 7:15 p.m. CT. The meet is the team's Stick It to Hunger event, where all fans who bring an unopened jar of peanut butter receive $4 admission
MISSOURI RANKED 23RD IN LATEST NATIONAL POLL
- Mizzou fell to No. 23 in this week's national rankings
- Rankings are determined by average score for the first six weeks of the season (before moving to Regional Qualifying Score in late February)
- Missouri was 17th in the preseason coaches poll, announced on Dec. 11
- That was the highest preseason ranking for the Tigers since prior to the 2011 season, when they were chosen 13th
TIGERS POST TOP 10 WIN
- Mizzou's 196.325-196.150 win over No. 10 Arkansas on Jan. 19 marked the team's first top 10 win since the program knocked off No. 9 Georgia, 195.800-195.350, on Jan. 22, 2016
- Additionally, it was only the Tigers' second top 10 victory since the 2012 season
- In 2012, Mizzou defeated No. 9 Arkansas, 196.100-195.450 in Columbia, on March 16 and No. 4 Nebraska, 195.725-194.550, on Jan. 28 in Lincoln, Neb.
HARRIS, PORTER CLAIM EVENT TITLES AGAINST RAZORBACKS
- Harris and Porter both won event titles against No. 10 Arkansas on Jan. 19
- Harris claimed top honors on floor with a 9.925, a score that clinched Mizzou's victory. It was her first event title of the season and the 13th of her Tiger career
- Porter also earned an event win, as she scored a meet-high 9.900 on bars. It also marked her first victory of the season and was the 19th of her Mizzou career
