@MizzouWrestling Set for South Beach Duals, Southern Scuffle this Weekend

Mizzou will wrestle, Lehigh, Purdue, Kent State and Cornell in Florida
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Sixth-ranked Mizzou Wrestling will put its 26-match dual winning streak on the line this weekend as it heads to the South Beach Duals in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Action at the event will begin Saturday (Dec. 29) as Mizzou will wrestle Lehigh and Kent State. Day two of the event will be Sunday (Dec. 30) as Mizzou will wrestle Purdue and Cornell. Below is the schedule:
- Saturday – 10 a.m. (CT) – Mizzou vs. Kent State
- Saturday – 12 p.m. (CT) – Mizzou vs. Lehigh
- Sunday – 10 a.m. (CT) – Mizzou vs. Purdue
- Sunday – 12 p.m. (CT) – Mizzou vs. Cornell
The Tigers will also send a pair of grapplers to the Southern Scuffle Tournament this weekend. Freshman 125-pounder Cevion Sevarado and freshman 174-pounder Jeremiah Kent will compete in that tournament.
Mizzou enters the South Beach Duals with a perfect 6-0 record and has won its past 26 duals, a streak that dates back to the 2016-17 season. Prior to the break over the Christmas holiday, Mizzou claimed a 23-21 win over Virginia in front of a capacity crowd at Park Hill High School in Kansas City during its last dual. Mizzou entered the final bout at 174 pounds trailing, 21-17 as fourth-ranked Daniel Lewis needed bonus points in his bout to earn a Mizzou win. He responded and pinned his opponent in 1:14 to earn the walk-off pin for Mizzou.

- 197 Pounds – Wyatt Koelling (8-6) or Taylor Watkins (13-8)
