
Schuchts’ Career Night Leads No. 21 @MizzouWBB to 62-54 Win over Duke

Schuchts sets career high with 25 points on 6-for-6 shooting from three
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Sparked by a career night from redshirt junior Hannah Schuchts (Tallahassee, Fla.), Mizzou Women's Basketball defeated Duke, 62-54, on Sunday afternoon at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Fort Myers, Fla. With the win, Mizzou finished 2-1 at the tournament to earn fifth place, and is now 5-2 on the season.
Schuchts set career highs in points, field goals and three-pointers as she scored 25 points on a perfect 8-for-8 shooting from the field and 6-for-6 from the three-point line. Her six triples set a Mizzou single game record for three-pointers made without a miss.
TURNING POINT
After holding a slim 39-38 lead over Duke after three quarters, Mizzou opened the fourth quarter on a 9-2 run to increase its lead to eight points at 48-40 with 5:09 remaining the final period. The Tigers scored all their points on threes in the run, as redshirt senior guard Lauren Aldridge (Marshfield, Mo.) sank two triples while Schuchts made one. Mizzou made five of its season-high 16 three-pointers in the fourth quarter, led by three from Schuchts. Mizzou was clutch from the charity stripe once again in the game's deciding moments as the Tigers sank 6-of-8 shots from the free throw line in the final two minutes of the game to seal the victory.
TOP TIGERS
- Schuchts scored a career-high 25 points while shooting a perfect 8-for-8 from the field and 6-for-6 from three. She also grabbed five rebounds and was 3-for-4 from the free throw line in 28 minutes.
- Aldridge reached double figures for the second time this season with 13 points to go along with a team-high four assists. The Tiger senior shot 4-for-7 from beyond the three-point arc to improve to 48.4 percent shooting from three on the season (15-for-31).
- Senior guard Sophie Cunningham (Columbia, Mo.) played all 40 minutes in the game, scoring eight points while grabbing a team-high five rebounds.
NOTES
- Schuchts' 6-for-6 performance from beyond the three-point arc set a Mizzou single game record for most threes made without a miss. The previous record of 5-for-5 was set numerous times, most recently by Lindsey Cunningham against Arkansas on Feb. 12, 2017.
- Mizzou made a season-high 16 three-pointers in the game, surpassing its previous best of 10 threes against Michigan (Nov. 23). The Tigers' 16 triples are the most made in a game as a team since Dec. 20, 2015 when Mizzou also made 16 against Lamar. Five Tigers made threes in the game, led by Schuchts' six. Aldridge drained four triples, while Cunningham, junior guard Amber Smith (Shreveport, La.) and redshirt freshman guard Haley Troup (Gadsden, Ala.) all made two.
- Mizzou had seven players record 17 assists in the game, led by Aldridge and Smith who each had four.
- Sophomore forward Emmanuelle Tahane (Bondy, France) matched her career-high in rebounds with five.

Mizzou will next face against West Virginia in the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Sunday, Dec. 2 in Morgantown, W. Va. Tipoff from WVU Coliseum is slated for 4 p.m. CT.
