COLUMBIA, Mo. - After an emphatic home win over Arkansas on Sunday, Mizzou (17-9, 7-5) heads to Gainesville, Fla., on Thursday to take on Florida. Tip off on SEC Network Plus is set for 6 p.m. CT.
OF NOTE
- Mizzou is looking to remain undefeated in its all-time series against Florida. All five wins in program history over the Gators have come during the Robin Pingeton coaching era.
- Mizzou's average margin of victory in the series is 14.0 points. Four of the five games were decided by double digits.
- Mizzou's win on Sunday was its 17th, clinching its fifth consecutive winning season. The last time the Tigers put together five straight winning seasons was 1985-90.
- Mizzou is looking to sweep the season series over Arkansas for the first time as members of the SEC.
- Mizzou now also has four consecutive home wins in league play. That is the longest home win streak for the Tigers in conference action since the 2005-06 campaign.
- A win Thursday would give Mizzou 18 victories and counting, its third straight season with 18 wins or more. The last time the Tigers won at least 18 games in three straight seasons was 1984-1987.
- Mizzou has been dominant in first quarters this season, outscoring opponents 452-350 in the frame, including 198-146 in SEC play.
- Mizzou currently has four wins over Top-35 RPI opponents, including Creighton, Texas A&M, Kentucky and Auburn. Mizzou's current RPI is 28, the highest its been this season.
- Mizzou ranks third in the nation in free throw percentage as a team so far this season as the Tigers are shooting 79.5 percent from the line. That percentage currently tops the Southeastern Conference. The program record for free throw percentage in a season is currently 76.3 percent.
- Mizzou has outrebounded opponents 19 times in 26 games this season, going 15-4 in those contests.
- Against Mizzou, Arkansas shot 33.9 percent from the field. Mizzou has now held opponents under 35-percent shooting 10 times this season.
- After holding Arkansas to nine points in the second quarter Sunday, Mizzou has limited its opponents to single digit scoring in 16 total quarters and six points or fewer six different times.
SOLID 6TH WOMAN
- Freshman Amber Smith is shining in a reserve role and has steadily improved as the season has gone on. Smith recorded her first career double-double in Mizzou's win over Arkansas with 11 ponts and 10 rebounds.
- She has excelled lately, averaging 10.2 points and 4.6 rebounds over the last five games, reaching double figures three times in that span. When Smith has scored at least 10 points, Mizzou is 5-0 this season.
- In Mizzou's four wins over Top-35 RPI opponents, Smith averaged 11.3 points and 2.5 rebounds.
- Smith has scored at least eight points nine times with seven of those occassions coming in league play.
- She leads Mizzou in field goal percentage (49.2 percent) and 3-point field goal percentage (50 percent)
- Smith ranks second in the SEC among freshmen in 3-point percentage (min. 20 attempts), making 13-of-26 attempts this season.
LAST TIME OUT
- Mizzou beat Arkansas, 67-56, on Sunday night, earning its fourth consecutive home win.
- Mizzou scorched the nets Sunday, shooting 59.1 percent from 3-point range, its best performance from deep in conference play, as the Tigers claimed their ninth double-digit win this season. Mizzou made at least 10 triples as a team for the fourth time in 2016-17 and the third time against an SEC opponent.
- Redshirt senior Lindsey Cunningham poured in a career-high 21 points (5-of-5 3FG) to lead Mizzou and added six rebounds. Sophie Cunningham poured in 19 points and seven rebounds.
SCOUTING FLORIDA
- Florida is coming off back-to-back wins over Arkansas and Alabama, marking the first time the Gators have secured consecutive victories in league play this season.
- Florida is a strong offensive rebounding team, leading the SEC with 15.4 offensive rebounds per game (386 total). The Gators rank fourth in the league in rebounding margin (+5.7).
- The Gators are led by senior Ronni Williams, who leads the SEC in scoring with 18.9 points per game and adds 8.0 rebounds per contest. Williams had the best single-game performance in the SEC this season when she poured in 43 points against Vanderbilt.
